We report on the measurement of γp→J/ψp cross section from E_{γ}=11.8 GeV down to threshold at 8.2 using a tagged photon beam with GlueX experiment. find that total falls toward less steeply than expected two-gluon exchange models. The differential dσ/dt has an exponential slope 1.67±0.39 GeV^{-2} 10.7 average energy. LHCb pentaquark candidates P_{c}^{+} can be produced in s channel this reaction. see no evidence for them and set model-dependent upper limits their branching fractions...
We report the total and differential cross sections for $J/\psi$ photoproduction with large acceptance GlueX spectrometer photon beam energies from threshold at 8.2~GeV up to 11.44~GeV over full kinematic range of momentum transfer squared, $t$. Such coverage facilitates extrapolation forward ($t = 0$) point beyond physical region. The section is used by many theoretical models plays an important role in understanding its relation $J/\psi-$proton interaction. These measurements near are also...
IMBA (Integrated Modules for Bioassay Analysis) is a suite of software modules that implement the current ICRP biokinetic and dosimetric models estimation intakes doses. The have gone through extensive quality assurance, are now used routine formal dose assessment by Approved Dosimetry Services throughout UK. HPA has continued to develop modules. In addition, several projects, sponsored organisations both in USA Canada, resulted development customised user-friendly interfaces (IMBA Expert™...
We report measurements of the photon beam asymmetry $\Sigma$ for reactions $\vec{\gamma}p\to p\pi^0$ and p\eta $ from GlueX experiment using a 9 GeV linearly-polarized, tagged incident on liquid hydrogen target in Jefferson Lab's Hall D. The asymmetries, measured as function proton momentum transfer, possess greater precision than previous $\pi^0$ are first $\eta$ this energy regime. results compared with theoretical predictions based $t$-channel, quasi-particle exchange constrain...
The GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab ran with its first commissioning beam in late 2014 and the spring of 2015. Data were collected on both plastic liquid hydrogen targets, much detector has been commissioned. All systems are now performing or near design specifications events being fully reconstructed, including exclusive production π0, η ω mesons. Linearly-polarized photons successfully produced through coherent bremsstrahlung polarization transfer to ρ observed.
We measure for the first time differential photoproduction cross section $d\sigma/dt$ of $a_2(1320)$ meson at an average photon beam energy 8.5~GeV, using data with integrated luminosity 104~pb$^{-1}$ collected by GlueX experiment. fully reconstruct $\gamma p \to \eta\pi^0 p$ reaction and perform a partial-wave analysis in mass region amplitudes that incorporate linear polarization beam. This allows us to separate contributions natural- unnatural-parity exchanges. These measurements provide...
We present a search for axionlike particles, $a$, produced in photon-proton collisions at center-of-mass energy of approximately 4 GeV, focusing on the scenario where $a$-gluon coupling is dominant. The uses $a\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ and $a\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ decays, data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity $168\text{ }\text{...
In 1997, a collaboration between British Nuclear Fuels plc (BNFL), Westlakes Research Institute and NRPB started, with the aim of producing IMBA (Integrated Modules for Bioassay Analysis), suite software modules that implement new ICRP models estimation intakes doses. This was partly in response to UK regulations, due requirement unified approach estimating doses from bioassay measurements within UK. Over past 5 years, have been developed further, gone through extensive quality assurance,...
We report on the measurement of beam asymmetry $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Sigma}}$ for reactions $\stackrel{P\vec}{\ensuremath{\gamma}}p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\ensuremath{\eta}$ and $\stackrel{P\vec}{\ensuremath{\gamma}}p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ from GlueX experiment using an 8.2--8.8-GeV linearly polarized tagged photon incident a liquid hydrogen target in Hall D at Jefferson Laboratory. These measurements are made as function momentum transfer...
The Central Drift Chamber is a straw-tube wire chamber of cylindrical structure located surrounding the target inside bore GlueX spectrometer solenoid. Its purpose to detect and track charged particles with momenta as low 0.25 GeV/c well identify low-momentum protons via energy loss. construction detector described its operation calibration are discussed in detail. design goal 150 microns position resolution has been reached.
In recent years, there has been a debate on whether considerable fraction of particles is retained after 24 h in the tracheobronchial region. present study, 8 healthy subjects inhaled 6.2-µm monodisperse Teflon labeled with 111In twice, at flow rates 0.45 and 0.045 L/s. According to theoretical calculations, L/s should deposit mainly large bronchi alveolar region, whereas be deposited small ciliated airways. Twenty-four hours inhalation, about half both modes inhalation had cleared....

The primary motivation of the GlueX experiment is to search for and ultimately study pattern gluonic excitations in meson spectrum produced $γp$ collisions. Recent lattice QCD calculations predict a rich hybrid mesons that have both exotic non-exotic $J^{PC}$, corresponding $q\bar{q}$ states ($q=u,$ $d,$ or $s$) coupled with field. A thorough spectrum, including identification isovector triplet, charges 0 $\pm1$, isoscalar members, $|s\bar{s}\ >$ $|u\bar{u}\ > + |d\bar{d}\ >$, each...
The GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab studies photoproduction of mesons using linearly polarized 8.5GeV photons impinging on a hydrogen target which is contained within detector with near-complete coverage for charged and neutral particles. We present measurements spin-density matrix elements the vector meson ρ(770). statistical precision achieved exceeds that previous experiments in this energy range by orders magnitude. confirm high degree s-channel helicity conservation small squared...
The spin-exotic hybrid meson π1(1600) is predicted to have a large decay rate the ωππ final state. Using 76.6 pb−1 of data collected with GlueX detector, we measure cross sections for reactions γp→ωπ+π−p, γp→ωπ0π0p, and γp→ωπ−π0Δ++ in range Eγ=8–10 GeV. isospin conservation, set first upper limits on photoproduction π10(1600) π1−(1600). We combine these lattice calculations widths find that η′π most sensitive two-body system search π1(1600). locked icon Physics Subject Headings...
Three groups, each consisting of 6 healthy subjects, inhaled, respectively, 6-µm (aerodynamic diameter), 8-µm, and 10-µm Teflon particles, labeled with indium-1ll. The particles were inhaled at an extremely low flow rate, 0.05 L/s. Lung retention was measured after 0, 24, 48, 72 h. Two models used to calculate particle deposition in the lungs various generations: Karolinska Institute model (KI model) University Southampton (US model). The was performed as part GlueX experimental program Hall D at Jefferson Laboratory using a linearly polarized photon beam with...

We report a measurement of the π− photoproduction beam asymmetry for reaction →γp→π−Δ++ using data from GlueX experiment in photon energy range 8.2–8.8 GeV. The Σ is measured as function four-momentum transfer t to Δ++ and compared phenomenological models. find that varies t: negative at smaller values positive higher |t|. can be described theoretically by t-channel particle exchange requiring pseudoscalar, vector, tensor intermediaries. In particular, this requires charge exchange, allowing...
