Abstract 3D histology, slice-based connectivity atlases, and diffusion MRI are common techniques to map brain wiring. While there many modality-specific tools process these data, is a lack of integration across modalities. We develop an automated resource that combines histologically cleared volumes with atlases MRI, enabling the analysis histological features multiple fiber tracts networks, their correlation in-vivo biomarkers. apply our pipeline in murine stroke model, demonstrating not...

Invasion and metastasis of glioblastoma-initiating cells (GICs) are thought to be responsible for the progression recurrence glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). A safe drug that can applied during rest period temozolomide (TMZ) maintenance cycles would greatly improve prognosis GBM patients by inhibiting GIC invasion. Resveratrol (RES) is a natural compound exhibits anti-invasion properties in multiple tumor cell lines. The current study aimed evaluate whether RES inhibit invasion vitro vivo....

OBJECTIVE The authors aimed to evaluate the technical feasibility of a mixed-reality neuronavigation (MRN) system with wearable head-mounted device (HMD) and determine its clinical application accuracy. METHODS A semiautomatic registration MRN on HoloLens smart glasses was developed tested for accuracy feasibility. Thirty-seven patients intracranial lesions were prospectively identified. For each patient, multimodal imaging–based holograms lesions, markers, surrounding eloquent structures...

Lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-based mRNA therapeutics, highlighted by the success of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, face challenges due to inflammation caused ionizable lipids. These lipids can activate immune system, particularly when co-delivered with nucleic acids, leading undesirable inflammatory responses. We introduce a novel class anti-inflammatory functionalized hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), which suppresses both lipid-induced and acid-induced activation. HCQ-functionalized LNPs (HL LNPs) exhibit...

The resistance mechanisms that limit the efficacy of retinoid therapy in cancer are poorly understood. Sphingosine kinase 2 (SphK2) is a highly conserved enzyme mainly located nucleus and endoplasmic reticulum. Unlike well-studied sphingosine 1 (SphK1) cytosol, little has yet understood functions SphK2. Here we show SphK2 overexpression contributes to all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) colon through rapid degradation cytoplasmic X receptor α (RXRα) by lysine 48 (K48)- 63 (K63)-based...

Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a typical and lethal digestive system malignancy. In this study, we investigated the effect of sirtuin 3 (SIRT3) expression, fidelity mitochondrial protein, on proliferation CRC cells mechanisms involved. Using University Alabama at Birmingham Cancer Data Analysis Portal database Clinical Proteomic Tumour Consortium database, discovered that low expression SIRT3 in was negative factor for survival prognosis ( P < .05). Meanwhile, correlated with distant...

Bedside freehand catheter insertion for the treatment of basal ganglia hemorrhage currently remains major method due to its simplicity and efficiency, but it is associated with low precision. We retrospectively evaluated feasibility accuracy using a wearable mixed-reality holographic computer guide catheter-based compared method. collected 30 patients who initially underwent either guided (holographic guidance group) or (freehand group). Data pre- postoperative CT images in both groups...

Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) disrupts the integrity of white matter microstructure and affects brain functional connectivity, resulting in persistent cognitive, behavioral affective deficits. Mounting evidence suggests that altered cortical-subcortical connectivity is a major contributor to cognitive dysfunction. The striatum particularly vulnerable DAI, but has received less attention. This study aimed investigate alteration patterns striatal subdivision connectivity. Twenty-six patients...

The functional profiles of regions in the ventral occipital-temporal cortex (VTC), a critical region for object visual recognition, are associated with VTC connectivity patterns to nonvisual relevant corresponding domain. However, whether and how whole-brain connections affect recognition behavior remains untested. We directly examined necessity by testing 82 patients whose lesion spared but affected various white matter (WM) tracts other regions. In these patients, we extracted anatomical...
