Nucleic acid analysis has become highly relevant for point-of-care (POC) diagnostics since the advent of isothermal amplification methods that do not require thermal cycling. In particular, recombinase polymerase (RPA) combined with lateral flow detection offers a rapid and simple solution field-amenable low-resource nucleic testing. Expanding POC tests multiple analytes is vital to improve diagnostic efficiency because increased multiplexing capacity enables higher information density...

The quadriceps during activities mainly affect patellar movement in the sagittal plane. This study was to analyze pattern of tilt patellofemoral pain (PFP) patients by four-dimensional computed tomography (4DCT). Thirty-four knees PFP and 34 control were scanned with 4DCT. Patella-patellar tendon angle (P-PTA), patella-lateral tibial plateau (P-LTPA), patella-screen horizontal line (P-SHLA), articular facet (PA-LTPA), (PA-SHLA), upper margin patella-quadriceps (PU-QTA) used evaluate tilt....

Patellofemoral joint kinematics is a complex three-dimensional(3D) motion, involving shift and rotation in the coronal, sagittal, axial directions. Quantifying patellar tracking only at level of patella or with two-dimensional(2D) parameters may not be comprehensive. The current study sought to explore spatial characteristics three directions, especially sagittal plane patients patellofemoral pain (PFP) based on Four-dimensional computed tomography (4D-CT). A total 35 knees PFP controls from...

Objective To test a method for performing electrical impedance myography (EIM) in the mouse hind limb assessment of disease status neuromuscular models. Methods An measuring device consisting frame with electrodes embedded within an acrylic head was developed. The rotatable such that data longitudinal and transverse to major muscle fiber direction could be obtained. EIM measurements were made this on 16 healthy mice 14 amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) animals. Repeatability assessed both...

In this study, a surface-enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) method has been developed for the accurate detection and identification of carbapenem-resistant carbapenem-sensitive Escherichia coli. A total 89 human isolates Enterobacteriaceae, comprising 41 strains E. coli (CSEC) 48 (CREC), were tested to assess feasibility our proposed SERRS as clinical tool, results showed almost 100% accuracy.

Background: Considering that patellofemoral pain (PFP) is related to dynamic factors, extension on 4-dimensional computed tomography (4-DCT) may better reflect the influence of muscles and surrounding soft tissue than static extension. Purpose: To compare characteristics alignment between knee position in patients with PFP controls via 4-DCT. Study Design: Cross-sectional study; Level evidence, 3. Methods: Included were 39 knees (25 patients) 37 control (24 participants). For each knee, an...

BACKGROUND Many patients have bone defects that exceed the healing size. This study aimed to construct polycaprolactone/nano-hydroxyapatite (PCL/nHA) composite scaffolds with different pore sizes and investigate osteogenesis histocompatibility of cortical mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs-C) seeded on it after inoculation. MATERIAL AND METHODS After mixing PCL nHA proportionally, three-dimensional (3D) printing was used print scaffolds. Porosity, compressive strength, elastic modulus PCL/nHA...

As several studies have detected correlations between patellar and femoral trochlear development, this raises the question of whether shape is associated with developmental outcomes.Patellar morphology were retrospectively analyzed in 183 subjects, whom 61 each classified as having Wiberg type I, II, III patellae (groups A, B, C, respectively). The sulcus angle (SA), lateral trochlea inclination (LTA), medial (MTA), facet length (LFL), (MFL), height (LTH), (MTH), (TH), lateral-medial...
