We report findings in five patients who presented with venous thrombosis and thrombocytopenia 7 to 10 days after receiving the first dose of ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 adenoviral vector vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). The were health care workers 32 54 years age. All had high levels antibodies platelet factor 4-polyanion complexes; however, they no previous exposure heparin. Because cases occurred a population more than 130,000 vaccinated persons, we propose that represent rare...
During a 2-week period, we have encountered five cases presenting with the combination of cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), intracerebral hemorrhage and thrombocytopenia. A clinical hallmark was rapid severe progression disease in spite maximum treatment efforts, resulting fatal outcome for 4 out 5 patients. All had received ChAdOx1 nCov-19 vaccine 1–2 weeks earlier developed characteristic syndrome thereafter. The progressive course high fatality rate CVT thrombocytopenia such cluster...
Mechanical thrombectomy is now the standard treatment for acute ischaemic stroke with occlusion of a carotid or intercranial artery. With occlusions this type, thrombolytic often has limited effect. The therapeutic outcome use time-dependent, and personalised approach to indication always necessary. To achieve best possible results, main prerequisites are good clinical procedures, an optimal patient pathway, high neuroradiological competence coordinated, interdisciplinary teams.
Abstract Background and aim The thrombectomy in the elderly prediction score (TERPS) for functional outcome after anterior circulation endovascular therapy (EVT) patients ≥ 80 years was recently developed. of this study to assess predictors validate model. Methods Consecutive treated with EVT from Oslo Acute Reperfusion Stroke Study were evaluated inclusion. Clinical radiological parameters used calculate TERPS, assessed at 3-month follow-up. Results Out 1028 who underwent acute ischemic...
Using a standard 3D nnUNET model that was pretrained to segment WMH on FLAIR, we obtained good stroke lesion segmentation accuracy (median Dice = 0.80) when the re-trained DWI in smaller sample (N 82). Applying DWIs from 307 thrombectomy patients, found no association between pre-treatment volume and functional outcome at 90 days after thrombectomy. Our results indicate established assumption of size being strong predictor should be investigated further for patients receiving mechanical
Abstract Background and objectives New onset persistent headache has been reported following acute COVID-19 disease to some degree also after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. Still, the mechanisms for these types are unclear. The purpose of this study was assess levels amyloid related biomarkers in patients with vaccine. Methods In prospective observational cohort, severe as dominating symptom (n=29) vaccination (n=31), had neurological assessments reassessments 6 months. Plasma precursor protein...
