Sulfonated (SO(3)H-bearing) activated carbon (AC-SO(3)H) was synthesized by an aryl diazonium salt reduction process. The obtained material had a SO(3)H density of 0.64 mmol·g-1 and specific surface area 602 m2·g-1. catalytic properties AC-SO(3)H were compared with that two commercial solid acid catalysts, Nafion NR50 Amberlyst-15. In 10-h esterification reaction acetic ethanol, the conversion (78%) lower than Amberlyst-15 (86%), which could be attributed to fact sulfonated (4.60 mmol·g-1)....

Importance
In adults undergoing hip fracture surgery, regional anesthesia may reduce postoperative delirium, but there is uncertainty about its effectiveness.
Objective
To investigate, in older surgical repair for fracture, the effects of on incidence delirium compared with general anesthesia.
Design, Setting, and Participants
A randomized, allocation-concealed, open-label, multicenter clinical trial 950 patients, aged 65 years older, or without preexisting...
