The relationship between conscious experience and brain activity has intrigued scientists philosophers for centuries. In the last decades, several theories have suggested different accounts these relationships. These developed in parallel, with little to no cross-talk among them. To advance research on consciousness, we established an adversarial collaboration proponents of two major field, Global Neuronal Workspace Integrated Information Theory. Together, devised preregistered experiments...

In a crowded visual scene, attention must be distributed efficiently and flexibly over time space to accommodate different contexts. It is well established that selective enhances the corresponding neural responses, presumably implying would persistently dwell on task-relevant item. Meanwhile, recent studies, mostly in divided attentional contexts, suggest does not remain stationary but samples objects alternately time, suggesting rhythmic view of attention. However, it remains unknown...

To be more general, both transmitted beam local oscillator are assumed to partially based on Gaussian Schell (GSM). By using derived analytical form cross-spectral function GSM propagating through turbulence, closed-form expression derived, assuming that propagation directions for beams slightly different. Rapidly grouping local elements into an organized object (i.e., perceptual integration) is a fundamental yet challenging task, especially in noisy contexts. Previous studies demonstrate that ventral visual pathway, which widely known to mediate recognition, engages the process by conveying object-level information processed high-level areas modulate low-level sensory areas. Meanwhile, recent evidence suggests dorsal not typically attributable also involved process. However, underlying...

Virtual coupling is a new train operation control mode, which can realize cooperative of multiple trains at extremely small intervals through wireless communication without physical connection. It significantly improves the section carrying capacity railway line. However, transportation more restricted by stations rather than sections. Efficient dispatching and coordinated virtually coupled set (VCTS) are crucial to improve capacity. This study analysed characteristics trains' approaching...

A visual scene always contains hierarchically organized structures, and determining how the brain coordinates processing of global local features is thus central for understanding perception. Recent neuroimaging studies have shown that global/local analyses are separately mediated through neuronal oscillations at different frequencies. However, it remains unclear these rhythmic profiles associated with contribute to precedence effect (GPE) , classical finding properties perceived faster than...
