Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) contains at least three small open reading frames (ORFs) in the genome, addition to structural genes. Two of these ORFs (putative vif and ORF-A) have unknown functions. Northern (RNA) blot analysis mRNAs from an FIV-infected cell line showed that putative-vif-specific mRNA was expressed as a 5.2-kb species. To examine function putative gene, we constructed mutants carrying deletion either vif-like gene or rev infectious molecular clone FIV. Although mutant...

Recent outbreaks of canine distemper virus (CDV) infection in Tokyo area were investigated on the basis clinical features and serological test. The affected dogs clinically classified into two groups; with respiratory gastrointestinal signs associated central nervous system (CNS) signs, those CNS alone. Of 62 examined, 34 belonged to former 28 latter. In immunoperoxidase assay, anti-Onderstepoort strain CDV serum reacted at a low level against 2 field isolates CDV. These results suggested...

Abstract H9N2 influenza A virus (IAV) causes low pathogenic respiratory disease and infects a wide range of hosts. In this study, six IAVs were isolated from mink identified as IAV. Sequence analysis revealed that the isolates continued to evolve, their PB2 genes shared high nucleotide sequence identity with H7N9 The contained an amino acid motif PSRSSR↓GL at hemagglutinin cleavage site, which is characteristic viruses. serosurvey demonstrated IAV had spread widely in was prevalent foxes...

Over 200 cases of undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma the liver (UESL) have been reported since 1978 when this disease was first described. In present study, we describe a case UESL in 7-year-old female, whose initial symptoms included swelling upper abdomen and palpable enormous irregular tumor. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination revealed massive focal lesion right lobe liver. Hepatic malignant tumor with high possibility hepatoblastoma diagnosed. The surgically removed confirmed...

Canine distemper virus (CDV) was readily isolated at high rate with marked cytopathic effect (CPE) in B95a cells, a marmoset lymphoid cell line, from the peripheral blood leukocytes, cerebrospinal fluid cells and brain of dogs. Difference type CPE, i.e. syncytium round-cell one, among isolates indicate presence heterogeneity populations prevalent CDV. Thus, this system is expected to be useful for ecological studies on CDV field.

The identification of the third component complement (C3) Japanese quails was attempted by using rabbit antiserum prepared against quail serum-treated zymosan (ZX) as an initial reagent. This (anti-ZX) had agglutinating activity on erythrocytes reacted with antibody and (EACq) but not EAq, developed two precipitin lines serum at beta- gamma-regions in crossed immunoelectrophoresis. Subsequently, monospecific antisera to each these were rabbits, proteins reactive purified salt precipitation...

ABSTRACT High-performance mullite-based composite ceramics were prepared successfully using natural kaolin and alumina as raw materials ZrO 2 an additive. The influence of sintering temperature content on the behaviour mechanical properties zirconia-toughened mullite was studied systematically. With increasing from 1450°C to 1560°C, primary phases as-sintered corundum with a small amount , bulk density increased 2.29 2.72 g cm –3 . Furthermore, phase transition promoted transgranular...

Abstract Individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) are clinically heterogeneous, different risks of progression to Alzheimer’s disease. Regular follow-up and examination may be time-consuming costly, especially for MRI PET. Therefore, it is necessary identify a more precise population. In this study, two-stage screening frame was proposed evaluating the predictive utility additional measurements among high-risk MCI subjects. first stage, K-means cluster performed trajectory-template...
