Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) emerged in 2002 to 2003 southern China. The origin of its etiological agent, the SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV), remains elusive. Here we report that species bats are a natural host coronaviruses closely related those responsible for outbreak. These viruses, termed SARS-like (SL-CoVs), display greater genetic variation than SARS-CoV isolated from humans or civets. human and civet isolates nestle phylogenetically within spectrum SL-CoVs, indicating virus...

Previous proactivity research has predominantly assumed that proactive personality generates positive environmental changes in the workplace. Grounded recent on development from a broad interactionist theoretical approach, present article investigates whether work characteristics, including job demands, control, social support supervisors and coworkers, organizational constraints, change over time and, more important, reciprocal relationships between characteristics. Latent score analyses...

ABSTRACT Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is caused by the SARS-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV), which uses angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) as its receptor for cell entry. A group of SARS-like CoVs (SL-CoVs) has been identified in horseshoe bats. SL-CoVs and SARS-CoVs share identical genome organizations high sequence identities, with main exception N terminus spike protein (S), known to be responsible binding CoVs. In this study, we investigated usage SL-CoV S combining a...

Drawing upon social comparison theory, we developed and tested a model to examine potential negative coworker reactions toward proactive employees. We theorized that focal employee's personality is positively related with his or her high relative standing in the group, which turn exposes him being target of envy. This may then reduce received help from coworkers give rise undermining. further reasoned employee prosocial motivation moderates serial mediated relationships. Our hypotheses were...

Visible-light-induced three-component 1,2-alkylpyridylation of alkenes with unactivated alkyl iodides and aryl cyanides is reported via a photocatalytic halogen-atom transfer (XAT) strategy. This metal-free protocol utilizes readily available tertiary alkylamine as the terminal reductant to smoothly convert into corresponding carbon radical species. The reaction features broad substrate scope, excellent functional group tolerance, high efficiency, mild conditions. practicability this...

Increasing levels of financial inequality prompt questions about the relationship between income and well-being. Using a twins sample from Survey Midlife Development in U. S. controlling for personality as core self-evaluations (CSE), we found that men, but not women, had higher subjective well-being (SFWB) when they incomes. This was due to 'unshared environmental' factors rather than genes, suggesting effect on SFWB is driven by unique experiences among men. Further, women CSE influenced...
