Previously, we reported that c-Myc is glycosylated by O-linked N-acetylglucosamine at Thr-58, a known phosphorylation site and mutational hot spot in lymphomas. In this paper, describe the production characterization of two Thr-58 site-specific antibodies use them to examine modification living cells. One antibody specifically reacts with Thr-58-glycosylated form c-Myc, other only unmodified c-Myc. Using these together commercial anti-Thr-58-phosphorylated antibody,...

Mitochondria perform multiple functions critical to the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. Here we report that downregulation histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) causes a reduction in net activity mitochondrial enzymes, including respiratory complex II and citrate synthase. HDAC6 ubiquitin‐binding activities were both required for recovery reduced metabolic due loss HDAC6. Hsp90, substrate HDAC6, localizes mitochondria partly mediates regulation by Our finding suggests regulates metabolism might...

Acetylation of α-tubulin on Lys(40) is thought to be a modification that regulates the dynamic instability microtubules, but little known about occurrence acetylation in plants. Here we report growth stage-dependent change levels and organ distribution acetylated Arabidopsis thaliana Widespread leaves 15 species (20 cultivars) angiosperms was also confirmed. Our data indicate widespread many angiosperms, can differ, sometimes considerably, among different organs developmental stages.

A new C30 linear polyacetylene compound designated petroacetylene (1) has been isolated from the marine sponge Petrosia solida Hoshino 1981, collected off coast of Amami-Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The structure was elucidated on basis spectroscopic data and chemical means. Petroacetylene inhibited blastulation starfish embryos at a concentration 3.1 μg mL− 1 or greater.

Protein targets of polyADP-ribosylation undergo covalent modification with high-molecular-weight, branched poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR) lengths up to 200 or more ADP-ribose residues derived from NAD+. PAR polymerase 1 (PARP1) is the most abundant and well-characterized enzyme involved in biosynthesis. Extensive studies have been carried out determine how (PARylation) regulates cell proliferation during cycle, conflicting conclusions. Since significant activation PARP1 occurs lysis vitro, we...

Abstract Of the FET (fused in sarcoma [FUS]/Ewing protein [EWS]/TATA binding protein-associated factor 15 [TAF15]) family of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle proteins, FUS and TAF15 are consistently EWS variably found inclusion bodies neurodegenerative diseases such as frontotemporal lobar degeneration associated with FUS. It is speculated that dysregulation proteins at post-translational level involved their cytoplasmic deposition. Here, O-linked β-N-acetylglucosamine...

Abstract Cholangiocarcinoma is one of the most serious diseases in northeast T hailand, where its incidence reported to be highest world. We tried develop a new method detect cholangiocarcinoma early stages using serum proteins. found that after fluorescent labeling sugar moiety proteins, peak was identified, which might promising marker for cholangiocarcinoma.

Recently, we confirmed the widespread occurrence of α-tubulin acetylation on Lys(40) in angiosperms. In present study, found that is regulated a growth stage- and organ development-dependent manner rapid cycling Brassica rapa, also known as Fast Plants. Organ distribution analysis showed proportion acetylated high cotyledons young plants true leaves flowers mature plants. A correlation between increase levels maturation was observed. leaves, an uneven pattern, cells region leaf margins...
