A new endemic species, Eranthis tanhoensissp. nov., is described from the Republic of Buryatia and Irkutsk Province, Russia. It belongs to section Shibateranthis morphologically similar E. sibirica stellata. An integrative taxonomic approach, based on cytogenetical, molecular biochemical analyses, along with morphological data, was used delimit this species.

For Siberian and Far East Eranthis systematics taxonomy problems solving the integrative approach which includes morphometrical, cytological, molecular-philogenetical biochemical methods has been applied. Complex obtained data showed genus population heterogeneity within territory under study. Based on new species – tanhoensis was described.
