Human mobility is differentiated by time scales. While the mechanism for long scales has been studied, underlying on daily scale still unrevealed. Using concept motifs from network theory, find only 17 unique networks are present in they follow simple rules. These networks, called here motifs, sufficient to capture up 90 per cent population surveys mobile phone...

Despite their clinical significance, species-level identification still poses difficulties mostly involves combination phenotypic genotypic methods. The self-similarity of complex networks is typically investigated through computational algorithms, the primary task which to cover structure with a minimal number boxes. Here we introduce box-covering algorithm that outperforms previous ones in most cases. For two benchmark cases tested, namely, E. coli and World Wide Web (WWW) networks, our results show improvement can be rather substantial, reaching up 15% case WWW network.

Abstract The appearance of large geolocated communication datasets has recently increased our understanding how social networks relate to their physical space. However, many recurrently reported properties, such as the spatial clustering network communities, have not yet been systematically tested at different scales. In this work we analyze structure over 25 million phone users from three countries scales: country, provinces and cities. We consistently find that last urban scenario presents...
