The direct CP violation parameter Re(epsilon'/epsilon) has been measured from the decay rates of neutral kaons into two pions using NA48 detector at CERN SPS. 2001 running period was devoted to collecting additional data under varied conditions compared earlier years (1997-99). new yield result: = (13.7 +/- 3.1) times 10^{-4}. Combining this result with that published 1997, 98 and 99 data, an overall value (14.7 2.2) 10^{-4} is obtained experiment.

The RADiCAL Collaboration is conducting R&D on high performance electromagnetic (EM) calorimetry to address the challenges expected in future collider experiments under conditions of luminosity and/or irradiation (FCC-ee, FCC-hh, fixed target and forward physics environments). Under development a sampling calorimeter approach, known as modules, based scintillation, wavelength-shifting (WLS) technologies photosensor, including SiPM or SiPM-like technology. modules discussed herein consist...

We present a measurement of the ratio decay rates Gamma(KL -> pi+ pi-)/Gamma(KL pi e nu), denoted as Gamma(K2pi)/Gamma(Ke3). The analysis is based on data taken during dedicated run in 1999 by NA48 experiment at CERN SPS. Using sample 47000 K2pi and five million Ke3 decays, we find Gamma(K2pi)/Gamma(Ke3) = (4.835 +- 0.022(stat) 0.016(syst)) x 10^-3. From this derive branching CP violating KL pi- violation parameter |eta+-|. Excluding conserving direct photon emission component gamma, obtain...

The KS->gamma gamma decay rate has been measured with the NA48 detector using a high intensity short neutral beam from CERN SPS. branching ratio BR(KS->gamma gamma)=(2.78+-0.06(stat)+-0.04(syst))x10-6, obtained 7461+-172 events, is significantly higher than O(p^4) prediction of Chiral Perturbation Theory. Using KL BR(KL->gamma gamma)/BR(KL->3pi0)=(2.81+-0.01(stat)+-0.02(syst))x10-3 measured.

The $K_L\toπ^{\pm}π^0e^{\mp}ν_e(\barν_e)$ decay was investigated with the NA48 detector at CERN SPS using a beam of long-lived neutral kaons. branching ratio $Br(K_L\toπ^{\pm}π^0e^{\mp}ν_e(\barν_e))=(5.21\pm 0.07_{stat}\pm 0.09_{syst})\times 10^{-5}$ fixed from sample 5464 events 62 background events. form factors $\bar{f}_s$, $\bar{f}_p$, $λ_g$ and $\bar{h}$ were found to be in agreement previous measurements but higher accuracy. coupling parameter chiral Lagrangian $L_3=(-4.1\pm 0.2)\times...

Due to an expected increase in radiation damage under super-LHC conditions, we propose substitute the scintillator tiles original design of CMS hadronic endcap (HE) calorimeter with quartz plates. Quartz is proved be hard by various tests, but light produced comes from Cerenkov process, and it 100 times less than scintillation photons. To enhance production treated plates p-Terphenyl, constructed a 20 layers prototype. Here, report test beam results for electromagnetic capabilities prototype...
