The direct CP violation parameter Re(epsilon'/epsilon) has been measured from the decay rates of neutral kaons into two pions using NA48 detector at CERN SPS. 2001 running period was devoted to collecting additional data under varied conditions compared earlier years (1997-99). new yield result: = (13.7 +/- 3.1) times 10^{-4}. Combining this result with that published 1997, 98 and 99 data, an overall value (14.7 2.2) 10^{-4} is obtained experiment.
Background: Diabetes management apps may have positive effects on diabetes self-management. It remains unclear, however, which app features are particularly effective and encourage sustained usage. Behavior change techniques (BCTs) gamification promising approaches to improve user engagement. However, little is known about the frequency BCTs (GTs) actually used. This review aims provide an overview of GTs in current apps. Methods: Google’s Play Store was searched for applications using a...
The KS->gamma gamma decay rate has been measured with the NA48 detector using a high intensity short neutral beam from CERN SPS. branching ratio BR(KS->gamma gamma)=(2.78+-0.06(stat)+-0.04(syst))x10-6, obtained 7461+-172 events, is significantly higher than O(p^4) prediction of Chiral Perturbation Theory. Using KL BR(KL->gamma gamma)/BR(KL->3pi0)=(2.81+-0.01(stat)+-0.02(syst))x10-3 measured.
Using the NA48 detector at CERN SPS, 31 KS->pi0 gamma candidates with an estimated background of 13.7 +- 3.2 events have been observed. This first observation leads to a branching ratio BR(KS->pi0 gamma) = (4.9 1.6(stat) 0.9(syst)) x 10^-8 in agreement Chiral Perturbation theory predictions.
A value of (-6.1 +- 0.9_{stat} 0.5_{syst})*10^{-3} is obtained for the quadratic slope parameter h in K_L -> 3\pi^0 decay Dalitz plot at NA48 experiment CERN SPS. The result based on 14.7*10^6 fully reconstructed 6\gamma decays. This most precise measurement any parameters charged and neutral kaon decays so far.

The aim of this project is to develop high resolution tracking devices based on thin glass capillary arrays filled with liquid scintillator. This technique provides hit densities and a position better than 20 μm. radiation hardness more 100 Mrad makes superior other types comparable performance. attractive for inner in collider experiments, micro-vertex devices, or active targets short-lived particle detection high-energy physics experiments.
