The authors measured brain atrophy in nine patients undergoing immunoablation and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for multiple sclerosis. From baseline to 1 month after treatment, was 10 times faster than before treatment. A patient with non-CNS lymphoma showed comparable acute analogous therapy. These observations suggest that may not be due entirely the resolution of edema but related chemotoxicity.
Background and aim: Sepsis is a common cause of paediatric ICU admission. Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) may occur due to brain dysfunction in those patients be related impaired cerebral microcirculation. Transcranial Doppler (TCD) can used detect this impairment. In study, we aimed assess the role TCD prediction SEA mortality with severe sepsis or septic shock admitted PICU. Patients methods: This prospective study included seventy-five children PICU shock. Upon admission, all were...
Patients with more severe cases of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) may be at greater risk for developing acute kidney injury (AKI). The aim our study was to analyze incidence and outcomes AKI in critically ill patients COVID-19. Our prospectively followed about 198 COVID-19 admitted intensive care unit (ICU), Al Adan Hospital, Kuwait, outcomes. Age, gender, nationality, history hypertension, diabetes mellitus, ischemic heart disease, congestive failure, bronchial asthma, chronic...
<h3>Background</h3> The ongoing SURPASS trial (NCT04044859) evaluates safety and efficacy of next-generation ADP-A2M4CD8 SPEAR T-cells co-expressing the CD8α co-receptor with engineered MAGE-A4c1032T cell receptor (TCR). <h3>Methods</h3> First-in-human in HLA-A*02 positive patients (pts) advanced cancers expressing MAGE-A4 antigen by immunohistochemistry. Eligible pts undergo apheresis, are isolated, transduced a Lentiviral vector containing MAGE-A4c1032 TCR co...
Immunotherapy with T cells expressing chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) is being evaluated as a potential treatment for B-cell neoplasms. In recent clinical trials it has shown promising results. As the number of candidate antigens expands, choice suitable target becomes more challenging to design studies and assess optimal efficacy CAR. Careful evaluation required ensure that CAR will preferentially kill malignant minimal toxicity against normal tissues. B express specific surface can...
Social Networks are popular platforms for users to express themselves, facilitate interactions, and share knowledge. Today, in social networks have personalized profiles that contain their dynamic attributes representing interest behavior over time such as published content, location check-ins. Several proposed models emerged analyze those with content order measure the degree of similarity between users. This value can be further used friend suggesting link prediction. The main drawback...
Abstract Background Current data on infectious complications of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy are limited to single center retrospective cohort studies. Presented here is a subset patients from multicenter study including recipients CAR at Duke University, University North Carolina Chapel Hill, and Stanford University. Methods In 66 who received CD19 between January 1, 2018 August 31, 2021 rates characteristics bacterial, viral, fungal infections within the first year after...
Background and aims.Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver cancer one of leading causes related deaths. The aim this study to investigate characters risk factors in development hepatocellular Mansoura University Hospitals. Methods. The included 220 patients with HCC plus 246 control from general population rural areas Dakahlia. All was randomly selected.Diagnosis based on ultrasonography confirmed by triphasic computerized tomography /or MRI. Results.Compared without...
BackgroundTreatment of distal tibial fractures is often challenging and fraught with complications. Minimally invasive plating thought to overcome complications associated open intramedullary fixation in the third tibia. The aim this study was evaluate use minimally extra-articular tibia regarding time union, functional outcome, complications.Patients methodsThirty consecutive patients involving were classified according Muller-Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) classification...
Large granular lymphocytes (LGLs) are a morphologically distinct but an immunophenotypically heterogeneous set of activated T- or NK cells that mediate non-MHC-restricted cytotoxicity. LGL expansion following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) has been reported although its clinical relevance on transplant outcomes is not clear. Moreover, precipitating factor evoking unknown. A total 323 consecutive patients who received HSCTs from HLA identical sibling donors between...
Objective The objective of this study was to assess the early radiological and functional outcome either conservatively or surgically treated pediatric pelvic fractures.Patients methods This a prospective patients with fractures resulting from high-energy trauma. Management conservative surgical. Score-based assessment done. Results A total 30 were enrolled in study. Of them, 20 managed 10 treated. We had three mortality cases. mean follow-up period 9 months. Functional score 74 for 70 after...
<ns3:p>A male child presented with left lacrimal gland and right submandibular masses that were diagnosed as high grade B-cell non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
