We reveal experimentally waveguiding characteristics and group-velocity dispersion of line defects in photonic crystal slabs as a function defect widths. The have modes with two types cutoff within the band gap. Interference measurements show that they exhibit extraordinarily large group dispersion, we found whose traveling speed is 2 orders magnitude slower than air. These can be tuned by controlling width, results agree well theoretical calculations, indicating design light paths...

Abstract CRISPR-based nucleic-acid detection is an emerging technology for molecular diagnostics. However, these methods generally require several hours and could cause amplification errors, due to the pre-amplification of target nucleic acids enhance sensitivity. Here, we developed a platform that allows “CRI S PR-based mplifica t i o n-free digital R NA detect on (SATORI)”, by combining CRISPR-Cas13-based RNA microchamber-array technologies. SATORI detected single-stranded targets with...

We experimentally demonstrate the structural tuning of waveguiding modes line defects in photonic crystal (PC) slabs. By defect widths, we realized efficient single-mode waveguides that operate within band gap frequencies silicon-on-insulator PC The observed characteristics agree very well with three-dimensional finite difference time-domain calculations. also directly measured propagation loss and obtained a value 6 dB/mm.

A low temperature plasma deposition method using a raw material supply by sputtering has been developed. microwave electron cyclotron resonance technique was used for highly ionized generation and stream extraction at gas pressures of 10 -3 to -1 Pa. Gas molecules, particles sputtered ions in the are transported specimen substrate with an energy 30 eV. Fully oxidized, dense high quality films tantalum oxide aluminum were obtained room temperature.

Reactive ion stream etching has been developed for highly accurate with little bombardment induced damage by utilizing an electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma. The energy during is controlled the interaction between ECR plasma and a divergent magnetic field, in low range from 20 to 50 eV at gas pressures of 10−2 Pa. Highly submicron patterns polysilicon molybdenum were obtained high selectivities SiO2, larger than 30, using Cl2 as main gas.

Abstract Over the past two decades, number of tropical cyclones (TCs) has decreased markedly in southeastern part western North Pacific (WNP) as a component interdecadal variation.
