Abstract A rapid dynamic imaging sequence has been developed in which only the 32 phase encoding steps that encode low spatial frequencies are collected for each image. These substituted into a previously acquired, 128 × raw data set prior to image reconstruction. In this way information is retained while overall appearance improved comparison with images obtained by zero filling 128, leading better qualitative evaluation. The limited k‐space sampling means technique most effective large...
Objective: The incidence of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) ranges from 4 to 10 per 100,000 person-years in most countries, and 30-day case fatality is high. aim this study was estimate the aSAH assess preictal predictors survival 2 large Norwegian population-based cohort studies. Methods: A total 94,976 adults (≥20 years) Nord-Trøndelag Health Study 31,753 participants (aged ≥20 Tromsø were included. During follow-up, aSAHs identified, rates estimated, assessed using Cox Poisson...
Neocortical astrocytes were incubated with 13C-labeled substrates to determine metabolic pathways. 13C NMR spectroscopy was used analyze incorporation into glutamine and citrate from the different precursors – [1-13C]glucose or [2-13C]acetate. When glucose labeling substrate, due pyruvate carboxylation should be observed in C-2 position C-4 citrate. A large C-3 positions, but not acetate precursor, ratios C-2/C-4 positions equivalent 0.27 0.11, respectively. Moreover, labeled lactate much...
We have previously determined the incidence and prevalence of idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) in county Vestfold Norway. This study aimed at determining surgeries for iNPH.Information about age, sex, operation year type was collected retrospectively all patients hospitalized from 2002 to 2006 with any diagnosis iNPH operated insertion a ventriculo-peritoneal or ventriculoatrial shunt system, endoscopic third ventriculostomy Norway's five regional neurosurgical centers.Two...
Inter-organisational data exchange is regulated by norms originating from sources ranging (inter)national laws, to processing agreements, and individual consent. Verifying norm compliance complex because laws (e.g., GDPR) distribute responsibility require accountability. Moreover, in some application domains healthcare), privacy requirements extend the patient consent). In contrast, existing solutions such as smart contracts, access- usage-control assume policies be public, or otherwise,...
Sandvei MS, Lindekleiv H, Romundstad PR, Müller TB, Vatten LJ, Ingebrigtsen T, Njølstad I, Mathiesen EB, Vik A. Risk factors for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage – BMI and serum lipids: 11-year follow-up of the HUNT Tromsø Study in Norway. Acta Neurol Scand: 2012: 125: 382–388. © 2011 John Wiley & Sons A/S. Objectives Life-style have been associated with risk (aSAH), but it is not clear whether body mass index (BMI) lipids are risk. We prospectively assessed these associations two large...
Electrophysiologic studies were performed in 134 patients (87 males, mean age 59 years) with unexplained syncope. Seventy-one had organic heart disease (ischaemic 50). revealed conduction abnormalities and tachy arrhythmias that could account for syncope 40 (30%). Thirty-seven (93%) of these received pacing or antiarrhythmic therapy compared 23 (24%) the remaining 94 who a negative study empiric (P < 0.0001). Risk having an abnormal electrophysiologic was greater underlying (P<0.05). During...
The dynamic changes in microcirculation were investigated with laser Doppler flowmetry two selected regions of interest (ROI) a stroke lesion during ischemia and early reperfusion using rat model temporary middle cerebral artery (MCA) occlusion. In each ROI measurements made either 30 min or 2 h MCA occlusion followed by 1 reperfusion. On the periphery territory, an area mild mean reduction flow to 38% (39.9% group 35.9% occlusion) preischemic values was demonstrated. Closer center more...
Primary cultures of cerebral cortical GABA-ergic neurons growing on top a preformed layer astrocytes (co-cultures) were incubated with [1-13C]glucose and exposed to low oxygen atmosphere (2% O2) for 17 hr. 13C, 1H, 31P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy was performed perchloric acid (PCA) extracts cells media collected from these cultures. In the control groups incorporation 13C label into glutamine, citrate, lactate could be demonstrated in both cell culture media. Labeled GABA...
Dynamic magnetic resonance (MR) imaging with contrast agents is a very promising technique for studying tissue perfusion in vivo. A temporal series of images the same slice are acquired following injection agent into blood stream. The image intensity depends on local concentration agent, so that can be studied by series. new method analyzing such described here. Nonparametric linear regression used modeling along pixel basis. After modeling, some relevant quantities describing time obtained...
We report on the ideas and experiences of adapting Brane, a workflow execution framework, for use cases involving medical data exchange processing. These impose new requirements system to enforce policies encoding safety properties, ranging from access control legal regulations pertaining privacy. Our approach emphasizes users' over extent which they cooperate in distributed execution, at cost revealing information about their policies.
Data sharing is key in enabling data analysis and research advancement, that especially true within healthcare. Due to the inherited sensitivity of health data, institutions are still wary their with increasing number breaches recent years strict privacy legislation involved (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). There exist security concerns arise making available for use or processing. To tackle these concerns, we initially incorporate Privacy by Design (PbD) principles. This informs our approach...
In this paper we introduce an adaptive hybrid decision algorithm for video or image scaling. The combines a simple interpolation method with more cost intensive one. With approach it is possible to maintain the quality level of high while remarkably saving cost.
ASPARTAME (ASM), an artificial sweetener, was shown to dose dependently increase 45Ca influx into and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) leakage from murine brain cell cultures. Astrocytes were more resistant than neurones the effects of ASM. In cerebellar granule neurones, a 20% in calcium found after incubation time 22 h presence 0.1 mM ASM; at 0.5 concentration, increased 40% compared with control At concentration 10 mM, 13-fold 5 h. Morphological appearance as judged by phase contrast...
On the road towards personalised medicine, one of main challenges is to enforce security and network low-level policies secure data-sharing. The proposed dynamic framework defines topology service chains by instantiating Virtual Network Functions (VNF's) on fly via light-weight easily-deployable containers. In this paper, we profile resource utilisation chained VNF's deployed enable data movement within different healthcare use cases. We provide example configurations that map a couple cases...

Introduction
Lowering of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels is known to reduce the risk cardiovascular events in patients with atherosclerotic disease (ASCVD). The 2021 European Society Cardiology (ESC) Guidelines on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Clinical Practice recommend a target LDL less than 1.4mmol/L as well ≥50% reduction from baseline ASCVD. Multiple international studies have reported poor attainment lipid secondary prevention. Novel cholesterol-lowering therapies,...
