X-ray computed tomography (CT) is the most commonly used imaging technique for noninvasive diagnosis of disease. In order to improve tissue specificity and prevent adverse effects, we report design synthesis iodine-doped carbon dots (I-doped CDs) as efficient CT contrast agents fluorescence probe by a facile bottom-up hydrothermal carbonization process. The as-prepared I-doped CDs are monodispersed spherical nanoparticles (a diameter ~2.7 nm) with favorable dispersibility colloidal stability...

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic, nonspecific, relapsing inflammatory bowel disease. Metformin has pleiotropic effects including anti-inflammatory properties and notable impact on the gut microbiome. γδT17 cells play crucial role in initiating maintaining intestinal inflammation. The effect of metformin remains unclear. This study aims to explore connection between metformin-mediated ameliorated response mice cell activity. inhibition amelioration was evaluated mice. differentiation...

The antioxidant activity of ceria nanoparticles is tightly regulated by size distribution and heteroatom doping. Inspired this rule, cerium praseodymium codoped carbon quantum dots (Ce/Pr-CQDs) were synthesized through the one-pot hydrothermal carbonization method. Taking intrinsic advantage CQDs, resultant Ce/Pr-CQDs exhibited uniform ultra-small morphology with an average 2.8 nm, which led to increased proportion Ce3+. In addition, doping Pr into Ce-CQDs improved redox properties. As we...

Cerium oxide nanoparticles recently have received extensive attention in biomedical applications due to their excellent anti-oxidation performance. In this study, a simple, mild, and green approach was developed synthesize cerium-doped carbonaceous (Ce-doped CNPs) using bio-mineralization of bull serum albumin (BSA) as precursor. The resultant Ce-doped CNPs exhibited uniform ultrasmall morphology with an average size 14.7 nm. XPS FTIR results revealed the presence hydrophilic group on...

Objective. To compare the clinical value of serum microRNA21 (miR21) and other tumor markers in early diagnosis non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods. Serums carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cytokeratin 19 fragment (CYFRA21-1), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), miR21 were detected 50 NSCLC cases 60 healthy control individuals. Results. Average serums miR21, CEA, NSE, CYFRA21-1 levels significantly higher case group than (<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"...

This paper describes a new class of composite materials designed by combining multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and grafted collagen matrix. These show high mechanical capabilities taking advantage the favorable characteristics MWCNTs. Furthermore, doping into matrix results in substantial improvement thermal stability infrared emissivity. Thus these possess potential applications some fields such as biomedicine camouflage.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents (CTs) with both positive (T1) and negative (T₂) abilities have attracted considerable interests due to their complementary diagnostic information for more precise diagnosis. In this study, gadolinium-doped oxide nanoparticles functionalized by hyaluronic acid (HA-GdIO NPs) were synthesized atherosclerosis-targeting T1-T₂ dual-model MR imaging. The results showed that the HA-GdIO NPs exhibited high magnetic susceptibility good biocompatibility....

Abstract Background Fetuin-A and adiponectin present significant associations, supported by recent evidence, with metabolic syndrome (MS) featuring hyperglycemia, central obesity insulin resistance as the main components, but their biological functions are opposite. The aim of this study was to verify whether fetuin-A/adiponectin ratio (F/A ratio) is a more sensitive indicator for evaluation MS than either fetuin-A or adiponectin. Methods In cross-sectional study, 465 elderly subjects were...

Fetuin-A was considered to be involved in pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. On the other hand, higher vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression is associated with diabetes and its complications, but mechanisms leading VEGF levels are still not clear. To best our knowledge, there no data show associations between fetuin-A patients Therefore, aim this study investigate relationship serum concentrations We recruited 345 newly diagnosed Serum were measured using enzyme-linked...

Ferroptosis as an iron-dependent lipid peroxidation process causes sevely oxidative damage of cell, but lack highly efficient and recycable antioxidant agents. To this end, cerium doped carbon dots (Ce-doped CDs) with radical scavenging activity were synthesized using a simple microwave-assisted hydrothermal carbonization. The resultant Ce-doped CDs exhibited ultra-small size only approximately 2.6 nm, excellent dispersion in water well optical performance. Taking advantage inherent size,...

Regulatory regions within the 3' untranslated region (UTR) influence polyadenylation (polyA), translation efficiency, localization and stability of mRNA. Alternative polyA (APA) has been considered to have a key role in gene regulation since 2008. Esophageal carcinoma is eighth most common type cancer worldwide. The association between disease highlights requirement for comprehensive characterization genome-wide profiles. In present study, global profiles were established using sequencing...
