We report the first detection of chloronium, H$_2$Cl$^+$, in interstellar medium, using HIFI instrument aboard \emph{Herschel} Space Observatory. The $2_{12}-1_{01}$ lines ortho-H$_2^{35}$Cl$^+$ and ortho-H$_2^{37}$Cl$^+$ are detected absorption towards NGC~6334I, $1_{11}-0_{00}$ transition para-H$_2^{35}$Cl$^+$ is NGC~6334I Sgr~B2(S). H$_2$Cl$^+$ column densities compared to those chemically-related species HCl. derived HCl/H$_2$Cl$^+$ density ratios, $\sim$1--10, within range predicted by...
We present results derived from the first multi-chord stellar occultations by transneptunian object (50000) Quaoar, observed on 2011 May 4 and 2012 February 17, a single-chord occultation October 15. If timing of five chords obtained in were correct, then Quaoar would possess topographic features (crater or mountain) that be too large for body this mass. An alternative model consists applying time shifts to some account possible errors. Satisfactory elliptical fits are possible, yielding an...
To take advantage of the astrophysical potential Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs), Chinese and French astrophysicists have engaged SVOM mission (Space-based multi-band astronomical Variable Objects Monitor). Major advances in GRB studies resulting from synergy between space ground observations, implements instrumentation. The scientific objectives put a special emphasis on two categories GRBs: very distant GRBs at z$>$5 which constitute exceptional cosmological probes, faint/soft nearby allow...
Context. Asteroid modeling efforts in the last decade resulted a comprehensive dataset of almost 400 convex shape models and their rotation states. These already provided deep insight into physical properties main-belt asteroids or large collisional families. Going finer detail (e.g., smaller families, with sizes ≲20 km) requires knowledge parameters more objects.
<i>Aims. <i/> We identify a prominent absorption feature at 1115 GHz, detected in first HIFI spectra towards high-mass star-forming regions, and interpret its astrophysical origin. <i>Methods. The characteristic hyperfine pattern of the H2O+ ground-state rotational transition, lack other known low-energy transitions this frequency range, identifies as against dust continuum background allows us to derive velocity profile absorbing gas. By comparing with profiles tracers...
The larger number of models asteroid shapes and their rotational states derived by the lightcurve inversion give us better insight into both nature individual objects whole population. With a statistical sample we can study physical properties populations, such as main-belt asteroids or families, in more detail. Shape also be used combination with other types observational data (IR, adaptive optics images, stellar occultations), e.g., to determine sizes thermal properties. We use all...
We present results derived from four stellar occultations by the plutino object (208996) 2003~AZ$_{84}$, detected at January 8, 2011 (single-chord event), February 3, 2012 (multi-chord), December 2, 2013 (single-chord) and November 15, 2014 (multi-chord). Our observations rule out an oblate spheroid solution for 2003~AZ$_{84}$'s shape. Instead, assuming hydrostatic equilibrium, we find that a Jacobi triaxial with semi axes $(470 \pm 20) \times (383 10) (245 8)$~km % axis ratios $b/a= 0.82...
The space writhe of a knot is property its three-dimensional embedding that contains information about underlying topology, but the correspondence between and other topological invariants not fully understood. We perform Langevin dynamics simulations knotted semiflexible polymers measure their ensemble average writhe. show for all knots up to 10 crossings, alternating non-alternating, almost equal tightest known configuration same knot, with minor differences. Using this equivalence, we more...
The Swift burst GRB 110205A was a very bright visible in the Northern hemisphere. intrinsically long and energetic it occurred low-density interstellar medium environment, leading to delayed afterglow emission clear temporal separation of main emitting components: prompt emission, reverse shock, forward shock. Our observations show several remarkable features : detection optical strongly correlated with BAT light curve, no lag between two ; absence correlation X-ray compared high energy...
We present the computational results of removing mono and di-hydrogen atoms from naphthalene cation. Calculations are performed at B3LYP level with an extended basis. Two channels studied, -H -H2, these processes discussed within frame photodissociation PAHs in interstellar medium.

<i>Aims. <i/>We investigate the <i>ortho<i/>-water abundance in outflows and shocks order to improve our knowledge of shock chemistry physics behind molecular outflows.<i>Methods. used Odin space observatory observe H2O() line. We obtain strip maps single pointings 13 two supernova remnants where we report detections for eight sources. RADEX compute beam averaged abundances <i>o<i/>-H2O relative H2. Context. Recent studies have uncovered evidence that the statistical properties of asteroids' physical parameters are a fundamental source information on physics their collisions and evolution. The analysis spin rates vector distributions helps us to understand role various known new effects. alignment vectors correlation for first time observed ten members Koronis family. These unexpected non-random orientations axes correlations rates, now as Slivan states interpreted in terms YORP effect...
Asteroid (234) Barbara is the prototype of a category asteroids that has been shown to be extremely rich in refractory inclusions, oldest material ever found Solar system. It exhibits several peculiar features, most notably its polarimetric behaviour. In recent years other objects sharing same property (collectively known as 'Barbarians') have discovered. Interferometric observations mid-infrared with ESO VLTI (Very Large Telescope Interferometer) suggested might bi-lobated shape or even...
Abstract The transition from prompt to afterglow emission is one of the most exciting and least understood phases in gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). Correlations among optical, X-ray, GRBs have been explored, attempt answer whether earliest optical comes internal and/or external shocks. We present photometric observations GRB 180325A collected with TAROT RATIR ground-based telescopes. These show two strong flashes separate peaks at ∼50 ∼120 s, followed by a temporally extended emission. also X-rays...
As evidenced by recent survey results, majority of asteroids are slow rotators (P>12 h), but lack spin and shape models due to selection bias. This bias is skewing our overall understanding the spins, shapes, sizes asteroids, as well their other properties. Also, diameter determinations for large (>60km) medium-sized (between 30 60 km) often vary over 30% multiple reasons. Our long-term project focused on a few tens with periods up hours. We aim obtain full light curves reconstruct...
The primary objective of the Télescope à Action Rapide pour les Objets Transitoires (TAROT - Rapid Telescope for Transient Objects) observatory is detection cosmic Gamma-Ray Burst sources at optical wavelengths while still active in Gamma-rays. It features a very rapid slewing mount, 25 cm aperture telescope with deg. fov, and able to reach 17th V magnitude 10 s. A powerful scheduling algorithm, an automated data processing system makes TAROT fully autonomous facility. entered into service...
Aims.We analyze images of the CFHTLS Very Wide Survey to search for visible orphan afterglows from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs).
