We report the first detection of chloronium, H$_2$Cl$^+$, in interstellar medium, using HIFI instrument aboard \emph{Herschel} Space Observatory. The $2_{12}-1_{01}$ lines ortho-H$_2^{35}$Cl$^+$ and ortho-H$_2^{37}$Cl$^+$ are detected absorption towards NGC~6334I, $1_{11}-0_{00}$ transition para-H$_2^{35}$Cl$^+$ is NGC~6334I Sgr~B2(S). H$_2$Cl$^+$ column densities compared to those chemically-related species HCl. derived HCl/H$_2$Cl$^+$ density ratios, $\sim$1--10, within range predicted by...

We present results derived from the first multi-chord stellar occultations by transneptunian object (50000) Quaoar, observed on 2011 May 4 and 2012 February 17, a single-chord occultation October 15. If timing of five chords obtained in were correct, then Quaoar would possess topographic features (crater or mountain) that be too large for body this mass. An alternative model consists applying time shifts to some account possible errors. Satisfactory elliptical fits are possible, yielding an...

Context. Asteroid modeling efforts in the last decade resulted a comprehensive dataset of almost 400 convex shape models and their rotation states. These already provided deep insight into physical properties main-belt asteroids or large collisional families. Going finer detail (e.g., smaller families, with sizes ≲20 km) requires knowledge parameters more objects.

We present results derived from four stellar occultations by the plutino object (208996) 2003~AZ$_{84}$, detected at January 8, 2011 (single-chord event), February 3, 2012 (multi-chord), December 2, 2013 (single-chord) and November 15, 2014 (multi-chord). Our observations rule out an oblate spheroid solution for 2003~AZ$_{84}$'s shape. Instead, assuming hydrostatic equilibrium, we find that a Jacobi triaxial with semi axes $(470 \pm 20) \times (383 10) (245 8)$~km % axis ratios $b/a= 0.82...

As evidenced by recent survey results, majority of asteroids are slow rotators (P>12 h), but lack spin and shape models due to selection bias. This bias is skewing our overall understanding the spins, shapes, sizes asteroids, as well their other properties. Also, diameter determinations for large (>60km) medium-sized (between 30 60 km) often vary over 30% multiple reasons. Our long-term project focused on a few tens with periods up hours.
