Abstract This paper investigates how companies adjust their cash holdings in response to media coverage. We find that firms with more coverage and negative tone of move the level faster toward target level. More importantly, association between attention holding adjustment speed is weaker for affiliated business groups, indicating close relationship groups impairs monitoring role media. 전통적인 가치평가 모형에 따르면, ESG 활동이 기업가치를 제고하기 위해서는 기대현금흐름과 이의 불확실성을 반영하는 할인율을 개별적으로 혹은 유기적으로 개선하여야 한다. 본 연구는 매출액 및 영업이익률 증가를 통해 기대현금흐름을 개선하거나, 자기자본비용 또는 타인자본비용을 낮추어 제고하는지 실증적으로 분석한다. 2011-2019 기간에 걸쳐 구성된 한국기업지배구조연구원의 점수자료를 이용한 분석결과, 점수와 간의 유의한 관계는 찾을 수 없었으나, 점수가 높을수록 타인자본비용 자기자본비용은 유의적으로 낮다는 결과를 일부 발견하였다. 그러나 이들 변수 인과관계를 살펴본 그레인저 분석에서는 ESG의 점수 변화가 영업이익률의 변동, 타인 자기자본비용의 변동을 견인한다는 증거를 없었다. 이러한 결과는 시간에 따라 보이지 않았을 뿐만 아니라, 활동에 대한 대체적 점수를 사용했을 경우에도 그대로 유지되었다. 활동과 기업가치 결정요소들과의 상관관계와 인과관계에 차별적으로 제시함으로써, 최근...

In this study, we discuss how small audit firms (i.e. non‐Big 4 firms) address the staffing crunch during busy season.
