In this paper we first modify a widely used discrete Laplace-Beltrami operator proposed by Meyer et al over triangular surfaces, and then show that the modified has some convergence properties triangulated spheres. A sequence of spherical triangulations which is optimal in certain sense leads to smaller truncation error constructed. Optimal hierarchical are also given. Truncation bounds constructed provided.

The convergence property of the discrete Laplace-Beltrami operators is foundation analysis numerical simulation process some geometric partial differential equations which involve operator.
