Kidney size is sex-dimorphic and regulated by androgens in adult humans mice. However, the effects of developmental androgen deficiency on kidneys remain elusive. We hypothesized that program future kidney growth during a fetal development. Male mice lacking main testosterone-producing enzyme HSD17B3 had reduced testosterone at embryonic day 15.5, but concentrations increased E18.5, creating short time window resulting males. In male Hsd17b3-/- kidneys, nephron development was qualitatively...

Invasive fungal infections (IFIs) are an important cause of morbidity and mortality in children with cancer. Studies on the clinical characteristics IFI solid tumors limited. This Dutch retrospective cohort study reviewed medical records 61 to analyze during their full treatment period. Seven episodes were reported 6/61 patients (10%), all diagnosed intermediate-risk or high-risk Wilms tumor neuroblastoma. Larger studies necessary reveal determinants this group value prophylaxis.
