A clinical scoring system has been developed to detect impending or existing respiratory failure in childhood status asthmaticus. The score is based on a numerical evaluation of oxygenation, gas exchange, work breathing, airway obstruction, and cerebral function. highly significant correlation exists between the arterial carbon dioxide tension (Pco 2 ). oxygen (Po ) during air breathing also appear be significantly related.

Abstract This work combines two well‐established technologies to generate a breakthrough in protein production and purification. The first is the of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) granules engineered strains Escherichia coli . second recently developed group self‐cleaving affinity tags based on splicing elements known as inteins. By combining these with PHB‐specific binding protein, self‐contained expression purification system has been developed. In this system, PHB‐binding effectively acts an...

Inteins are protein-splicing elements, most of which contain conserved sequence blocks that define a family homing endonucleases. Like group I introns encode such endonucleases, inteins mobile genetic elements. Recent crystallography and computer modeling studies suggest consist two structural domains correspond to the endonuclease To determine whether bipartite structure is mirrored by functional independence domain, entire component was deleted from Mycobacterium tuberculosis recA intein....

Here we introduce a Rapid Adaptable Portable In vitro Detection biosensor platform (RAPID) for detecting ligands that interact with nuclear hormone receptors (NHRs). The RAPID can be adapted field use, allowing rapid evaluation of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) presence or absence in environmental samples, and also applied drug screening. is based on an engineered, allosterically activated fusion protein, which contains the ligand binding domain from target NHR (human thyroid receptor...

Inteins are the protein analogs of self-splicing RNA introns, as they post-translationally excise themselves from a variety hosts. Intein insertion abolishes, in general, activity its host protein, which is subsequently restored upon intein excision. These elements therefore have potential to be used general molecular "switches" for control arbitrary target proteins. Based on rational design, an intein-based switch has been constructed whose splicing conditionally triggered vivo by presence...

It shown well known self dual property for case J2 not=0, J3=0 holds J2=0, J3 thereby yielding likely result transition point both these cases given exp(-2J2,3/kT)= square root 2-1.
