Macrophage inhibitory cytokine 1 (MIC-1/GDF15) has been identified as a potential novel biomarker for detection of pancreatic cancer (PCa). However, the diagnostic value serum MIC-1 ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), particularly those at early stage, and treatment response monitoring have not yet investigated. expression in tumor tissue was analyzed by RT-PCR from 64 patients with PDAC. Serum levels were detected ELISA 1472 participants including PDAC, benign pancreas tumor, chronic pancreatitis...

To investigate the efficacy and safety of pyrotinib in treating patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor type 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancers brain metastasis. This is a multicenter retrospective study, HER2-positive cancer metastasis were studied. The enrolled given 400 mg orally once per day for 21 days as one cycle, evaluated every two cycles. All relevant data detected final assessments including medical history, clinical examination, histopathology, immunohistochemistry,...

Abstract Background Significant controversy remains regarding the care of patients with clinical stage III (N2-positive) NSCLC. Although multimodality therapy is effective, roles surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy are not fully defined optimal treatment approach firmly established. We analyzed outcomes predictors associated trimodality (TT) in National Cancer Database. Materials Methods The NCDB was queried from 2004 to 2014 for NSCLC diagnosed (N2) disease treated chemotherapy...

Early cerebral infarction (ECI) following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) remains poorly understood. This study aims to determine the frequency and risk factors of this special episode, as well assess relationship between its patterns outcome. We retrospectively enrolled 243 patients who underwent aneurysm treatment within 60 hours SAH. ECI was defined one or more new hypodense abnormalities on computed tomography 3 days after SAH, rather than lesions attributable edema, retraction...

SUMMARY: Although neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1) is commonly considered neurocutaneous, severe arterial and venous abnormalities have been noted. Our patient, a 28-year-old woman, had bilateral giant extracranial aneurysms of the internal carotid arteries as well skull base meningoceles involving jugular foramina aberrant veins. CT MR imaging, digital subtraction and/or other angiography techniques, may be required to clarify pathology in patients with suggested vascular lesions.

Abstract Increasing evidences reported that cancer‐triggered inflammation was associated with survival prognosis from colorectal cancer ( CRC ). However, the comprehensive effects of inflammatory‐based co NLR ‐ PLR combines neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio ) and platelet‐to‐lymphocyte rarely remain to be determined during chemotherapy. We retrospectively analyzed clinical data baseline laboratory parameters 153 patients who underwent palliative adjuvant chemotherapy between January 2009 2012....

Persistent hypoglossal artery (PHA), a rare embryological carotid-basilar anastomosis, is usually accompanied by hypoplastic vertebral and posterior communicating arteries, thereby such vascular anomaly serves as the main feeder supplying vertebrobasilar territory. Although rarely reported, simultaneous anterior territory infarcts related to PHA carotid atherosclerosis can occur. To date, far we know, only 4 cases have been previously reported in literature. Here, present case of 65-year-old...

Introduction: Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leakage is usually caused by developmental abnormalities and rare, accounting for approximately 5% of the cases (CSF) leakage.[1] To best our knowledge, clival dysplasia-caused CSF rhinorrhea has never been reported in neurosurgical field. Conclusion: often treated surgery, a transsphenoidal approach repair main surgical method used, offering advantages less trauma, fewer complications, rapid postoperative recovery, low recurrence rate.
