The Hugo RAS and DaVinci Xi systems are used for performing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). This study aims to compare these two platforms providing granular comprehensive data on their intraoperative performance. Comparison of Outcomes Multiple Platforms Assisted Robotic surgery—Prostate (COMPAR-P) trial is a prospective post-market (clinicaltrials.org NCT05766163). Enrollment began in March 2023, allocating patients or RARP, without selection criteria, up 50 consecutive cases....

Main hurdles of lignin valorization are its diverse chemical composition, recalcitrance, and poor solubility due to high molecular weight branched structure. Controlled fragmentation could lead use in higher value products such as binders, coatings, fillers etc. Oxidative enzymes, (i.e. laccases peroxidases) have long been proposed a potentially promising tool depolymerization. However, their application was limited ambient pH, where is poorly soluble water. A Finnish biotechnology company,...

Herein we report our first experience with Hugo RAS™ proposing a mirrored approach different angles. Two experienced surgeons performed 10 prostatectomies (six the standard and four one). The median docking time was 12.5 (IQR 12-15) vs. 13.5 12-20) minutes. console 229 (174-245) 172 164-191) None of procedures required conversion to open surgery. study proves versatility perform robot-assisted radical prostatectomy two angles might be useful for novel users adopt preferred approach.

Abstract Background The advent of novel robotic platforms requires that managers base their decisions on the value these generate. This study showcases how micro-costing methodologies can assist in decision-making process regarding implementation new within value-based healthcare (VBHC) framework. Methods We applied time-driven activity-based costing (TDABC) to evaluate cost disparities between da Vinci and Hugo systems for robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). Data were collected...

The development of efficient and biocompatible contrast agents is particularly urgent for modern clinical surgery. Nanostructured materials raised great interest as different imaging techniques, which essential features are high contrasts, in the case precise surgery, minimization signal spatial dispersion when embedded biological tissues. This study deals with a multimodal agent based on an injectable hydrogel nanocomposite containing lanthanide-activated layered double hydroxide coupled to...

Since before the COVID-19 pandemic, hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) represented a global healthcare crisis. Few studies suggested that COVID-19-related basic hygiene measures (BHM) could lower HAIs rates, reaching inconclusive results. The aim of this study was to investigate hypothetical benefit on rate COVID-19-enhanced BHM systematic introduction after major elective urological surgery.Since pandemic began, our hospital has implemented limit spread COVID-19. We compared patients...
