Virtual reality (VR) is useful for treating several psychological problems, including phobias such as fear of flying, agoraphobia, claustrophobia, and phobia to insects small animals. We believe that augmented (AR) could also be used treat some disorders. AR VR share advantages over traditional treatments. However, gives a greater feeling presence (the sensation being there) judgment (judging an experience real) than because the environment elements patient uses interact with application are...

Tracking infectious diseases at the community level is challenging due to asymptomatic infections and logistical complexities of mass surveillance. Wastewater surveillance has emerged as a valuable tool for monitoring disease agents including SARS-CoV-2 Mpox virus. However, detecting virus in wastewater particularly its relatively low prevalence community. In this study, we aim characterize three molecular assays tracking from El Paso, Texas, during February March 2023.

Domestic wastewater, when collected and evaluated appropriately, can provide valuable health-related information for a community. As relatively unbiased non-invasive approach, wastewater surveillance may complement current practices towards mitigating risks protecting population health. Spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic, programs are now widely implemented to monitor viral infection trends in sewersheds inform public health decision-making. This review summarizes recent developments...

Abstract The pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19) had an estimated overall case fatality ratio of 1.38% (pre-vaccination), being 53% higher in males and increasing exponentially with age. Among 9578 individuals diagnosed COVID-19 the SCOURGE study, we found 133 cases (1.42%) detectable clonal mosaicism for chromosome alterations (mCA) 226 (5.08%) acquired loss Y (LOY). Individuals mosaic events (mCA and/or LOY) showed a 54% increase risk...

The frequency of mitochondrial DNA haplogroups (mtDNA-HG) in humans is known to be shaped by migration and repopulation. Mounting evidence indicates that mtDNA-HG are not phenotypically neutral, selection may contribute its distribution. Haplogroup H, the most abundant Europe, improved survival sepsis. Here we developed a random forest trained model for haplogroup calling using data procured from GWAS arrays. Our results reveal context SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, HV branch were found represent...

Microplastics and microfibres are now widespread in aquatic ecosystems, as oceans rivers. A serious portion of these microplastics come from urban wastewater treatment plants. Traditional methods for detecting quantifying them labour-intensive time-consuming. This paper introduces MicroFiberDetect, a novel application designed to enhance the detection quantification within sludge samples. Leveraging power deep learning, this innovative tool provides accuracy insights into size colour each...

This paper describes an augmented reality (AR) system for the treatment of acrophobia. First, technical characteristics original prototype are described. Second, capacity immersive photography used in AR to provoke sense presence users is tested. Forty-one participants without fear heights walked around a staircase both real environment and environment. Immediately after their experience, were given SUS questionnaire assess subjective presence. The users' scores very high. Results indicate...
