Abstract We report dynamics of seroconversion to SARS-CoV-2 infections detected by IgG ELISA in 177 individuals diagnosed RT-PCR. Longitudinal analysis identifies 2-8.5% who do not seroconvert even weeks after infection. They are younger than seroconverters have increased co-morbidity and higher inflammatory markers such as C-Reactive Protein. Higher antibody responses associated with non-white ethnicity. Antibody decline during follow up almost 2 months. Serological assays increase...

We investigated the dynamics of seroconversion in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. During March 29-May 22, 2020, we collected serum samples and associated clinical data from 177 persons London, UK, who had SARS-CoV-2 measured IgG against compared antibody levels with patient outcomes, demographic information, laboratory characteristics. found that 2.0%-8.5% did not seroconvert 3-6 weeks after Persons seroconverted were older, more likely to have...

BACKGROUNDThere is increasing evidence, in transgenic mice and vitro, that inhibitory killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (iKIRs) can modulate T responses. Furthermore, we have previously shown iKIRs are an important determinant of cell-mediated control chronic viral infection these results consistent with increase the CD8+ lifespan due to iKIR-ligand interactions. Here, tested this prediction investigated whether affect humans vivo.METHODSWe used stable isotope labeling deuterated...

Summary Here we describe an open and transparent consortium for the rapid development of COVID-19 diagnostics tests. We report diagnostic accuracy data on Mologic manufactured IgG ELISA known positive serum samples a panel negative respiratory viral pre-December 2019. In January, Mologic, embarked product pathway focusing tests (RDTs), with anticipated funding from Wellcome Trust DFID. 834 clinical patients hospital controls were tested Mologic’s ELISA. The reported sensitivity 270 124...

Monocyte distribution width (MDW), a parameter generated alongside full blood counts (FBC) in new-generation haematology analysers, has been proposed as diagnostic test for severe infection/sepsis. It represents the standard deviation (SD) of monocyte mean volume (MMV).This study aimed to compare volumetric parameters retrieved by UniCel DxH 900 analyser (MMV and MDW) against corresponding from same sample measured using flow cytometry (forward scatter [FSC] SD) combination with phenotypic...

Abstract Inhibitory killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (iKIRs) are a family of inhibitory that expressed by natural cells and late-stage differentiated T cells. There is accumulating evidence iKIRs regulate cell-mediated immunity. Recently, we reported control was enhanced in chronic viral infections. We hypothesized the context autoimmunity, where an response might be considered detrimental, would have opposite effect. studied Type 1 diabetes (T1D) as paradigmatic example...

Introduction The lymphatic system has a pivotal role in immune homeostasis. To better understand this, we investigated the impact of Primary Lymphatic Anomalies (PLA) on lymphocyte numbers and phenotype. Methods study comprised (i) retrospective cohort: 177 PLA subjects from National Anomaly Register with clinical laboratory data, (ii) prospective 28 patients 20 healthy controls. Patients were subdivided using established phenotypic diagnostic categories grouped into simplex (localised...
