Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) are diverse diseases with different prognosis. The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) and the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) introduced 2 tumor node metastasis (TNM) stages, World Health Organization (WHO) proposed WHO 2010 grading system for pNETs. Therefore, we aimed to validate prognostic relevance of these 3 systems pNETs in South Korea. The Korean Gastrointestinal created a retrospective registry 153 patients from 15...
Lafutidine is a novel H(2)-receptor antagonist with gastroprotective activity that includes enhancement of gastric mucosal blood flow. The aim the present study was to test efficacy 7- or 14-day lafutidine-clarithromycin-amoxicillin therapy versus lansoprazole-based regimen for Helicobacter pylori eradication.Four hundred and sixty-three patients H. pylori-infected peptic ulcer disease were randomized one four regimens: (1) lafutidine (20 mg b.i.d.), clarithromycin (500 b.i.d.) amoxicillin...
Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is a benign disorder and unique form of chronic with several characteristic features. A cystic formation that mimics pseudocyst rare finding. There have been few reports AIP complicated by pancreatic cysts. We present case multiple pseudocysts obstructive jaundice caused IgG4-associated cholangitis. initially missed the diagnosis due to pseudocyst. Based on computed tomography images, laboratory findings therapeutic response steroids, was diagnosed as associated...
Background/Aims: Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) and Trucut biopsy (TCB) are sensitive techniques for diagnosing mediastinal lesions, but it is unclear how either one or both should be used to obtain a pathologic diagnosis. The objective of our study was evaluate whether EUS-TCB impacts the diagnosis lesions after initial on-site review EUS-FNA specimen suggests suboptimal result. Methods: We enrolled consecutive patients with who underwent during same procedure...
The prognosis of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tends to be poor. Spontaneous regression this lesion is extremely rare. In report, we describe a case HCC which spontaneously regressed along with metastatic the chest wall. A huge in right lobe, largest diameter was about 15×12 cm, developed 72-year-old man. He and his family refused further treatment. Three months after diagnosis, metastasis wall detected. We prescribed painkiller for him order alleviate pain. Fourteen tumor size...
This study was designed to assess the pharmacokinetics (PK) and safety of fimasartan, an angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker, in hepatic impairment patients as compared with healthy subjects. An open-label, single-dose, parallel conducted 6 male volunteers 12 subjects impairment. Healthy were matched dysfunction on basis age, gender, body weight. After a single 120-mg oral administration PK parameters analyzed between groups group. Compared subjects, geometric mean ratio 90% confidence...
Patient-derived tumor xenograft is the transfer of primary human tumors directly into an immunodeficient mouse. plays important role in development and evaluation new chemotherapeutic agents. We succeeded generating a patient-derived biliary obtained by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration from patient who had inoperable extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. This will be promising tool for individualized cancer therapy can used developing agents treatment future.
