During the last decade, knowledge about BBX proteins has greatly increased. Genome-wide studies identified gene family in several ornamental, industry, and food crops; however, reports regarding role of these genes as regulators agronomically important traits are scarce. Here, by phenotyping a knockout mutant, we performed comprehensive functional characterization tomato locus Solyc12g089240, hereafter called SlBBX20. The data revealed encoded protein positive regulator light signaling...

Leishmaniasis and Chagas' are parasitic protozoan diseases that affect the poorest population in world, causing a high mortality morbidity. As result of highly toxic long-term treatments, novel, safe more efficacious drugs essential. In this work, CH2Cl2 phase from MeOH extract leaves Baccharis retusa DC. (Asteraceae) was fractioned to afford two flavonoids: naringenin (1) sakuranetin (2). These compounds were vitro tested against Leishmania spp. promastigotes amastigotes Trypanosoma cruzi...

Resorting to a One Strain Many Compounds (OSMAC) approach, the marine Streptomyces sp. BRB081 strain was grown in six different media settings over 1, 2, 3 or 7 days. Extractions of mycelium and broth were conducted separately for each cultivation period by sonication using methanol/acetone 1:1 agitation with ethyl acetate, respectively. All acetate crude extracts analysed HPLC-MS/MS data treatment performed through GNPS platform MZmine 2 software. In parallel, genome sequenced, assembled...

Background Malignant melanoma is a deadly type of metastatic skin cancer with increased incidence over the past 30 years. Despite advanced knowledge on biology, immunobiology and molecular genetics melanoma, alternatives treatment are limited poor prognosis. On clinical trials, natural products among them redox-active quinones have been tested in attempt to control growth cells. Recently, we isolated jacaranone from Pentacalia desiderabilis, benzoquinone derivative that showed broad...

Duckweeds are the smallest free-floating flowering aquatic plants. Their biotechnological applications include their use as food, bioenergy, and environmental sustainability, they can help clean polluted water. The high growth capacity chemical properties make them suitable for human health applications. Here we evaluated ethanolic extracts from five species of duckweeds by HPLC-DAD/MS-MS characterization. Sixteen compounds were identified quantified, in which three chlorogenic acid...
