Background. Although there is a well-documented risk of acute renal failure (ARF) with the iodinated contrast agents, intravenous gadolinium-based agents are considered non-nephrotoxic and have been widely used for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, debate continues regarding safety issue gadolinium, especially in patients kidney failure. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate gadolinium stage 3 4 as well factors nephrotoxicity.
Background and Objectives: Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is an immune-mediated, fibroinflammatory, multiorgan with obscure pathogenesis. Findings indicating excessive platelet activation have been reported in systemic sclerosis, which another autoimmune, multisystemic fibrotic disorder. The inflammatory, fibrosing intersections of IgG4-RD sclerosis raised a question about platelets’ role IgG4-RD. Materials Methods: By borrowing transcriptomic data from Nakajima et al. (GEO...
Abstract Background Serum uric acid (SUA) has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in both the general population and individuals type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Identification high‐risk is crucial for primary prevention CVD. A growing array newly discovered biomarkers identified predicting Galectin‐3 (Gal‐3) linked to inflammatory fibrotic processes suggested as a biomarker patients heart failure. Aims Our aim investigate whether Gal‐3 marker that may predict CVD...
Renal tubular acidosis (RTA) is a non-anion gap metabolic and generally mild asymptomatic in kidney recipients. Although calcineurin inhibitors, suboptimal allograft function, donor age acute rejection have been associated with RTA, no detailed study has conducted to investigate the prevalence clinical implications of RTA long-term recipients. In this cross-sectional study, we enrolled 109 patients (74 males, 35 females) for [patients glomerular filtration rate (GFR) <30 ml/min/1.73 m(2),...
Crossed fused renal ectopia is a rare congenital anomaly of the urinary system where one kidney crosses over to opposite side and parenchyma two kidneys fuse. Herein, we present an atypical CFRE case whose anatomy does not exactly match any already defined types. Both are ectopic with crossed right lying superiorly upper pole left kidney. Renal arteries were originating from common iliac arteries. A focal 90% stenosis was observed on main artery. The patient borderline hypertensive.
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a multisystem and significantly associated with obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease.NAFLD has become the most prevalent chronic in Western countries, proportion of NAFLD-related cirrhosis among patients on transplantation waiting lists increased. In light accumulated data about NAFLD, to provide common approach multi-disciplines dealing subject, it necessary create new guidance for...
Behçet's disease (BD) is a chronic, relapsing, multisystemic inflammatory disorder with unanswered questions regarding its etiology/pathogenesis and classification. Distinct manifestation based subsets, pronounced geographical variations in expression, discrepant immunological abnormalities raised the question whether "a or syndrome". To answer preceding we aimed to display compare molecular mechanisms underlying distinct subsets of BD. For this purpose, expression data gene profiling...
To evaluate the effects of intact parathormone (iPTH) on left ventricular function using transthoracic echocardiography chronic hemodialysis (HD) patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism. In HD patients, mortality is high and frequently due to cardiac complications. Secondary hyperparathyroidism, levels phosphate (PO_4), calcium product (Ca × PO_4) are related Materials methods: We examined 20 normal iPTH (Group 1) 2). Intact were measured in serum a Coat-A-Count kit (Diagnostic Products...
Computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) is currently an effective, reliable and widely employed diagnostic test for thromboembolism (PT). PT harbors intrinsic clinical biochemical abnormalities which may be associated with increased risk of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CIAKI).To assess the incidence factors CIAKI among patients diagnosed CTPA.One hundred twenty-two consecutive who had been using CTPA between February 2006 December 2010 were evaluated retrospectively. In...
To determine urinary neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (uNGAL) levels and creatinine clearance values in women with different degrees of asymptomatic hydronephrosis during pregnancy.A total 44 pregnant 46 without were consecutively enrolled this prospective study. Basic serum urine parameters, uNGAL levels, evaluated. All results compared between the two groups. Regression analysis was used to independent predictors, which mostly related hydronephrosis.Demographic data, basal...
Objective: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a worldwide health issue characterized by hyperglycemia due to defects in insulin secretion, action, or both, and associated with significant negative outcomes. Oxidative stress plays crucial role the onset, progression, complications of this disorder. Elevated serum uric acid level an independent predictor vascular diabetic patients, hyperuricemia may contribute oxidative stress. The objective study examine correlation between increased levels markers...
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR) with acute rejection after kidney transplantation. Material Methods: A total 36 adult renal transplant recipients (33 males, 3 females) a median age 41 (range, 19-64) years were included in retrospective conducted between January 2016 2019. Data on patient demographics laboratory findings (neutrophil, lymphocyte, platelet, creatinine, eGFR, serum uric acid...
Nonsecretory multiple myeloma (NSMM) is the absence of a detectable monoclonal protein in serum and urine (MM) patient immunoglobulin light chain (AL) amyloidosis significantly rare complication. A case NSMM with AL nephrotic range proteinuria presented. Sharing clinical, therapeutic, prognostic characteristics MM, real challenge may be during initial diagnosis assessment treatment response. In elderly patients unexplained renal dysfunction, MM should differential not rule out but remind us...
Aim: The best treatment for patient with end stage kidney disease is transplantation which improve their quality of life and survival rate. aim our study to determine the factors that affect results early outcomes graft function. Method: Twenty-eight adult patients who underwent renal from 2016 2017 were included in university. Results: median age recipients was 38.5 (range: 19-65) 68% (19 patients) male. Acute rejection detected 8 patients. Patients developed found have higher panel...
