Abstract: The objective of this work was to sequence the MyoD1, MyoG, MyF5, MyF6, and MSTN genes identify polymorphisms in Santa Inês sheep (Ovis aries). A total 192 lambs with 240 days age were evaluated, these sequenced be compared reference Ovis aries genome. Genotype allele frequencies estimated, Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium tested. Fragments containing 2,493 bp (MyoD1), 1,836 (MyoG), 2,813 (MyF5), 1,126 (MyF6), 2,380 (MSTN) obtained, and, sequences, 160 variants identified. These...

Polymorphisms in the growth hormone (GH) and IGF type-1 (IGF1) genes have been associated with economic traits farm animals, including BW of some sheep breeds. However, it remains unknown if these polymorphisms also affect carcass sheep. Thus, we aimed to identify GH IGF1 Santa Ines order describe their allelic genotypic frequencies as well test hypotheses that they are traits. Fragments 4550 bp 1194 were sequenced up 191 lambs. In all, 18 identified 21 gene. The rs430457475, rs412470350,...

Myostatin and MyoD family genes play vital roles in myogenesis this study aimed to identify association of variants MyoD1, MyoG, MyF5, MyF6, MSTN with meat traits Santa Inês sheep. A dataset 44 records seven 192 lambs (pH0, pH24, a*, b*, L*, tenderness assessed by shear force, water-holding capacity) was used. Single-locus haplotype analyses were performed, the significance threshold established according Bonferroni's method. analysis revealed two associations at a Bonferroni level, where...

Abstract µ-calpain ( CAPN1 ) and calpastatin CAST genes play key roles in protein turnover. The present study aimed to identify the variants these associated with growth ultrasound carcass traits Santa Inês sheep. A sample of 192 no full sibling lambs was used. Fragments were amplified next-generation sequencing performed MiSeq platform. Variants sequences then detected using bioinformatic tools. Withers croup heights, body length, thoracic widths, leg girths, depth, fat score, rib eye area,...

Growth hormone (GH), insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1), and leptin (LEP) can be candidate genes for association studies because they play vital roles in the metabolism process. Thus, this study aimed to identify variants these associated with body traits Santa Inês sheep. The following were recorded: weight at 100 (BW100) 240 days (BW240), average daily gain (ADG), withers (WH) croup (CH) heights, length (BL), thoracic (TG) leg (LG) girths, (TW) (CW) widths, depth (BD), rib eye area (REA),...

Abstract Background There has been an increased interest in nutritional strategies to manipulate the fatty acid profile of pigs. Dietary regimens involving use oils that are high monosaturated (MUFA), primarily oleic (OA), such as canola oil (CO), well omega (n)-3 polyunsaturated (PUFA), which found fish (FO), have investigated aiming healthier cuts, with a higher ratio n-3 n-6 acids. Therefore, effects including 3% soybean (SO), CO, or FO growing-finishing pig diets vs. feeding standard...

The aim of this study was to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEG) from skeletal muscle and liver samples animal model for metabolic diseases in human. To perform study, fatty acid (FA) profile RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) data 35 tissue (SOY1.5, n=17 SOY3.0, n=18) 36 n=18 Large White pigs were analyzed. FA tissues modified by diet, mainly those related monounsaturated (MUFA) polyunsaturated (PUFA) FA. transcriptome analysis revealed 45 DEG (FDR 10%), functional enrichment identified...

In the last decade, other quality attributes have emerged as main aspects that impact pork consumers acceptance, such environmentally friendly production, nutritional value, and animal welfare. This study applies a Check-All-That-Apply (CATA) questionnaire for sensory characterization of loins from genetically lean immunocastrated male pigs fed diets containing either standard commercial diet with 1.5 % soybean oil (control) or 3 (SO), canola (CO), fish (FO) during growing-finishing phases....
