This paper describes a six-stage methodology for developing ontologies engineering design, together with the research methods and evaluation of each stage. The focuses upon understanding user’s domain models through empirical research. A case study an ontology searching, indexing, retrieving knowledge is described. root concepts were elicited from designers. Relationships between are extracted as populated. contribution this to allow researchers industry create their particular purpose...

With the escalating global awareness of air quality management, need for continuous and reliable monitoring toxic gases by using low-power operating systems has become increasingly important. One which, semiconductor metal oxide gas sensors have received great attention due to their high/fast response simple working mechanism. More specifically, self-heating sensors, wherein direct thermal activation in sensing material, been sought low power-consuming characteristics. However, previous...

This study combines electroencephalogram (EEG) with virtual reality (VR) technologies to measure the EEG responses of users experiencing changes architectural elements. We analyze ratio alpha beta waves (RAB) indicators determine pre- and poststimulation changes. In our methodology, thirty-three females experience using private rooms in a postpartum care center participated experiment. Their brain are measured while they VR space room center. Three elements (i.e., aspect space, ceiling...

Slingshots, traditionally viewed as children’s toys, have recently been modified for malicious purposes, including firing steel balls at building windows, causing significant damage. This misuse necessitates the development of methods to estimate impact velocity and launch point based on glass damage patterns incident scenes. To achieve this, a comprehensive database correlating shapes with ball diameters is essential. study conducted experiments investigate 5 mm thick upon 8 10 balls. The...

An antibody immobilization was investigated using a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) over the highly refractive coatings with SiO2, TiO2, or Si3N4 substrate. The characterized by analyzing hydrophilic properties of hydroxyl (OH) groups on surface contact angle (CA) measurements to enhance protein immobilization. group formed in greater amounts as oxygen plasma exposure time increased, which resulted large enhancement It indicated that formation is critical for developing label-free optical...

We propose a technique that allows designers to develop energy-efficient buildings focused on occupants from the early design stage. The integrates physiological responses of and energy performance buildings. Among architectural elements, we considered aspect ratio, ceiling height, window-to-wall ratio as variables created 30 alternatives for single-occupancy room in postpartum care center. These were recreated virtual reality, allowing 33 female participants immerse themselves designed...

Although accurately estimating the early age compressive strength of concrete is essential for timely removal formwork and advancement construction processes, it challenging to estimate in cool, cold, hot, or unmanaged conditions. Various nondestructive testing methods, including recent IoT-based techniques, have been proposed determine concrete. This study evaluates maturity method using wireless thermocouple sensor assessing slabs, particularly those not subjected watering protection a...

We investigated a 2-dimensional (2D) U-Net model to delineate lumbar bone marrow (BM) using high resolution T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging. Healthy controls (n = 44, 836 images) and patients with hematologic diseases 56, 1064 received MRI of the spines. Lumbar BM on each image was manually delineated by an experienced radiologist as ground-truth. The 2D models were trained healthy only, diseased combined, respectively. validated subjects, separately. A repeated-measures analysis...

Financial networks are typically estimated by applying standard time series analyses to price-based economic variables collected at low-frequency (e.g., daily or monthly stock returns realized volatility). These used for risk monitoring and studying information flows in financial markets. High-frequency intraday trade data sets may provide additional insights into network linkages leveraging high-resolution information. However, such pose significant modeling challenges due their...
