The results of a phylogenetic and chemotaxonomic analysis the genus Micrococcus indicated that it is significantly heterogeneous. Except for lylae, no species groups phylogenetically with type genus, luteus. other members form three separate lines which on basis properties can be assigned to four genera. These genera are Kocuria gen. nov. roseus, varians, kristinae, described as rosea comb. nov., varians kristinae respectively; Nesterenkonia halobius, halobia nov.; Dermacoccus...

Phylogenetic evidence derived from a 16S ribosomal DNA analysis indicated that the type strain of Micrococcus agilis, DSM 20550 (= ATCC 966 = CCM 2390), is less closely related to species genus Micrococcus, luteus, than Arthrobacter, Arthrobacter globiformis, and species. The phylogenetic position M. agilis supported by presence peptidoglycan variation A3 alpha MK-9(H2) as major isoprenolog, characteristic also found in strains A. crystallopoietes, atrocyaneus, citreus, aurescens, ilicis,...

In order to determine the phylogenetic structure of actinomycete family Micromonosporaceae, 16S ribosomal DNA sequences 17 type species genera Actinoplanes, Dactylosporangium, and Pilimelia were compared with Catellatospora, Catenuloplanes, Couchioplanes those genus Micromonospora other for which have been previously determined. All family, together Couchioplanes, form a phylogenetically coherent cluster that is well separated from families Actinomycetales. Except one all according their...

The intrageneric structure of the genus Micromonospora was determined by analyzing 16S ribosomal DNAs type strains all but one 15 validly described species and four subspecies 19 other strains, most which represented invalidly species. One grouped outside a phylogenetically tight Micromonospora, appeared to be closely related genera belonging family Micromonosporaceae. level sequence similarity for 98%. Values in same range were also found when sequences compared. Whether actually represent...

Five conjugative plasmids governing different antibiotic resistance patterns were identified in wild strains of enteric bacteria isolated Czechoslovakia and the G.D.R between 1976 1979. They have been characterized as members new incompatibility group IncU (reference plasmid RA3 from Japan). The molecular sizes ranged 18 37 megadaltons: their restriction fragments indicated them to be distinct types.

Background Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by persistent inflammation and bacterial infection. Ciprofloxacin azithromycin are commonly prescribed antibiotics for CRS, but the ability to provide targeted release in sinuses could mitigate side effects improve drug concentrations at infected site. This study was aimed evaluate efficacy of novel ciprofloxacin‐azithromycin sinus stent (CASS) vitro. Methods The CASS created coating ciprofloxacin...

Background The Lactococcus strain of bacteria has been introduced as a probiotic nasal rinse for alleged salubrious effects on the sinonasal bacterial microbiome. However, data regarding interactions with pathogenic within sinuses are lacking. purpose this study is to assess interaction between L. lactis and patient‐derived Pseudomonas aeruginosa , an opportunistic pathogen in recalcitrant chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Methods Commercially available suspension containing W136 was grown...

The type strain of Arthrobacter picolinophilus, DSM 20665 (= ATCC 27854), was found to be so closely related strains Rhodococcus erythropolis that we propose this misclassified taxon should removed from the genus and reclassified as a R. erythropolis.
