5-Lipoxygenase (5-LOX) inhibitors have been shown to be protective in several neurodegenerative disease models; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We investigated whether 5-LOX inhibitor zileuton conferred direct neuroprotection against glutamate oxidative toxicity by inhibiting ferroptosis, a newly identified iron-dependent programmed cell death. Treatment of HT22 mouse neuronal line with resulted significant death, which was inhibited dose-dependent manner. Consistently,...

Excessive glutamate release causes overactivation of N-methyl d-aspartate receptors (NMDARs), leading to excitatory neuronal damage in cerebral ischemia. Hydroxysafflor yellow A (HSYA), a compound extracted from Carthamus tinctorius L., has been reported exert neuroprotective effect many pathological conditions, including brain However, the underlying mechanism HSYA's on neurons remains elusive. In present study, we conducted experiments using patch-clamp recording mouse hippocampal slices....

Scimitar syndrome is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by partial or total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage of the right lung to inferior vena cava. We report case 67-year-old female who presented with cough and dyspnea was diagnosed scimitar arterial hypertension based on comprehensive imaging hemodynamic evaluation. This highlights importance considering as cause even in adult patients.

Background and Purpose: This study tests the hypothesis that middle school high students can improve their stroke knowledge using Stroke 1-2-0, a educational tool, pass this on to family members. Methods: A total of 625 198 parents/grandparents participated in learning about 1-2-0. After group training session for by neurologist at school, took material home educated parents/grandparents. questionnaire was given students, before, immediately after, 1 year after event. Results: All...

In this paper, we abstract the process of people hearing speech, extracting meaningful cues, and creating various dynamically audio-consistent talking faces, termed Listening Imagining, into task high-fidelity diverse faces generation from a single audio. Specifically, it involves two critical challenges: one is to effectively decouple identity, content, emotion entangled audio, other maintain intra-video diversity inter-video consistency. To tackle issues, first dig out intricate...

Background The calibrator in immunoassay plays an essential role diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Presently, the most well-studied biomarkers for AD diagnosis are three phosphorylated Tau (p-Tau): p-Tau231, p-Tau217, and p-Tau181. Glycogen synthase-3beta (GSK3β)-phosphorated Tau-441 is commonly used p-Tau immunoassays. However, batch-to-batch inconsistency issue of GSK3β-phosphorylated limits its clinical application. Methods We have successfully generated characterized 61 monoclonal...

Abstract Background Fusobacterium necrophorum (F. necrophorum) -induced necrotizing pneumonia is a rare but severe pulmonary infection. Insufficient microbiological detection methods can lead to diagnostic difficulties. Methods We report case of F. lung abscess diagnosed by next-generation sequencing (NGS) bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF). Results BALF-NGS detected , guiding subsequent targeted antibiotic therapy. With active drainage and metronidazole treatment, the patient’s condition...

Accurate estimation of the state health (SoH) lithium batteries is extremely important for safe and stable battery operation. The quality data feature extraction directly affects accuracy SoH batteries. To this end, study proposes an method based on wavelet packet transform Transformer model. Firstly, three features related to decay were extracted from operation data. transformation technique was applied noise reduction improve their correlation with SoH.
