The recent emergence of highly virulent human adenoviruses (HAdVs) with new tissue tropisms underscores the need to determine their ontogeny. Here we report complete high quality genome sequences and analyses for all previously unsequenced HAdV serotypes (n = 20) within species D. Analysis nucleotide sequence variability these in conjunction another 40 prototypes, comprising seven species, confirmed uniquely hypervariable regions species. mutation rate among HAdV-Ds was low when compared...

Transcriptional enhancers are critical for maintaining cell-type–specific gene expression and driving cell fate changes during development. Highly transcribed genes often associated with a cluster of individual such as those found in locus control regions. Recently, these have been termed stretch or super-enhancers, which predicted to regulate identity genes. We employed CRISPR/Cas9-mediated deletion approach study the function several enhancer clusters (ECs) isolated mouse embryonic stem...

Transcriptional enhancers are critical for development and phenotype evolution often mutated in disease contexts; however, even well-studied cell types, the sequence code conferring enhancer activity remains unknown. To examine regulatory pluripotent stem cells, we identified genomic regions with conserved binding of multiple transcription factors mouse human embryonic cells (ESCs). Examination these revealed that they contain on average 12.6 factor site (TFBS) sequences. Enriched TFBSs a...

Genes within the E3 transcription unit of human adenoviruses modulate host immune responses to infection. A comprehensive genomics and bioinformatics analysis for 38 viruses adenovirus species D (HAdV-D) revealed distinct surprising patterns homologous recombination. Homologous recombination was identified in open reading frames CR1α, CR1β, CR1γ, similar that previously observed with genes encoding three major structural capsid proteins, penton base, hexon, fiber.

Human adenoviruses (HAdVs) are uniquely important "model organisms" as they have been used to elucidate fundamental biological processes, recognized complex pathogens, and remedies for human health. As HAdVs may effect asymptomatic or mild severe symptomatic disease upon their infection of respiratory, ocular, gastrointestinal, genitourinary systems. High-resolution genomic data enhanced the understanding HAdV epidemiology, with recombination an major pathway in molecular evolution genesis...

Glucagon-like peptide receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) are associated with delayed gastric emptying and may increase the risk of aspiration due to retained contents. There no guidelines on peri-endoscopic use GLP-1 RAs, real-world outcomes in an ambulatory setting remain unknown. This study reports data from center a large tertiary hospital.

The genome of human adenovirus (HAdV) D30 was sequenced in depth. Sequence assembly and analysis revealed two distinct viral sequences with identical hexon genes, which were the same as one previously reported for HAdV-D30. However, viruses found to be a recombinant HAdV-D29. Exclusive reliance on serum neutralization can lead mischaracterization adenoviruses miss coinfections. Whole-genome sequencing remains gold standard proper classification HAdVs.

ABSTRACT For DNA viruses, genetic recombination, addition, and deletion represent important evolutionary mechanisms. Since these alterations can lead to new, possibly severe pathogens, we applied a systems biology approach study the pathogenicity of novel human adenovirus with naturally occurring canonical penton base Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) loop, thought be critical cellular entry by adenoviruses. Bioinformatic analysis revealed new highly recombinant species D (HAdV-D60). A synthesis in silico...
