Abstract Thrombocytopenia is common in patients with dengue virus (DENV) infections. With a focus on understanding the possible mechanism of thrombocytopenia DENV infections we described direct correlation between activation and depletion platelets patients. Our data showed sharp decrease platelet counts at day 4 fever The high genome copies correlated directly elevated along increased binding complement factor C3 IgG their surface 4. Recovery count was observed 10 through 6 8 simultaneous...

Hypoxia is a hallmark of solid tumors that promotes cell growth, survival, and metastasis confers resistance to chemo radiotherapies. Hypoxic responses are largely mediated by the transcription factors hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) HIF-2α. Our work demonstrates HIF-2α essential for colorectal cancer (CRC) progression. However, targeting hypoxic cells difficult, rapidly acquire inhibitors To overcome this limitation, we performed small molecule screen identify HIF-2α-dependent...

Mitophagy is a cargo-specific autophagic process that recycles damaged mitochondria to promote mitochondrial turnover. PTEN-induced putative kinase 1 (PINK1) mediates the canonical mitophagic pathway. However, role of PINK1 in diseases where mitophagy has been purported play role, such as colorectal cancer, unclear. Our results here demonstrate higher expression positively correlated with decreased colon cancer survival, and required for growth. We show doxycycline-inducible knockdown (KD)...

The host-microbiome interface is rich in metabolite exchanges and exquisitely sensitive to diet. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) present at high concentrations this interface, a product of both microbial host metabolism. mitochondrial enzyme, quinone oxidoreductase (SQOR), couples H2S detoxification oxidative phosphorylation; its inherited deficiency presents as Leigh disease. Since an estimated two thirds systemic metabolism originates gut, it raises questions whether impaired clearance compartment...

Abstract Hypoxic stress in solid tumors promotes cancer cell growth and survival confers therapeutic resistance. Hypoxia inducible factors (HIFs) are transcription that help cells adapt to hypoxic stress. HIFs often overexpressed associated with worse clinical outcomes. HIF inhibition is a novel strategy belzutifan first-in-class HIF-2α inhibitor. Belzutifan has recently been approved for metastatic renal carcinoma treatment. However, despite studies showing critical regulator of colorectal...

Furthermore, this shows sickle [HbS, occurs due single nucleotide polymorphism at A>T β-globin gene and causes cell disease (SCD)] also GP1bα activated platelets a...
