Jet substructure has emerged to play a central role at the Large Hadron Collider, where it provided numerous innovative ways search for new physics and probe Standard Model, particularly in extreme regions of phase space. In this article we focus on review development use state-of-the-art jet techniques by ATLAS CMS experiments.

This report of the BOOST2012 workshop presents results four working groups that studied key aspects jet substructure. We discuss potential first-principle QCD calculations to yield a precise description substructure jets and study accuracy state-of-the-art Monte Carlo tools. Limitations experiments' ability resolve are evaluated, with focus on impact additional (pile-up) proton collisions performance in future LHC operating scenarios. A final section summarizes lessons learnt from analyses...

The axion emerges in extensions of the Standard Model that explain absence CP violation strong interactions. Simultaneously, it can provide naturally cold dark matter our universe. Several searches for axions and axion-like particles (ALPs) have constrained corresponding parameter space over last decades but no unambiguous hints their existence been found. mass range below 1 meV remains highly attractive a well motivated region axions. This Report summarises the activities of "SM and Higgs" working group for Workshop "Physics at TeV Colliders", Les Houches, France, 2-20 May, 2005. On one hand, we performed a variety experimental theoretical studies on standard candles (such as W, Z, ttbar production), treating them either proper signals known physics, or backgrounds to unknown physics; also addressed issues relevant those non-perturbative semi-perturbative ingredients, such Parton Density Functions Underlying Events, whose...
