Soil deposition density maps of gamma-ray emitting radioactive nuclides from the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) accident were constructed on basis results large-scale soil sampling. In total 10,915 samples collected at 2168 locations. Gamma rays emitted measured by Ge detectors and analyzed using a reliable unified method. The determined radioactivity was corrected to that June 14, 2011 considering intrinsic decay constant each nuclide. Finally created for 134Cs, 137Cs, 131I,...

Spatial distributions and temporal changes of radioactive fallout released by the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant accident have been investigated two campaigns with three measurement schedules. The inventories (activities per unit area) radionuclides deposited onto ground soil were measured using portable gamma-ray spectrometers at nearly 1000 locations (at most) campaign. Distribution maps 134Cs, 137Cs, 110mAg as March, September, December 2012 constructed. No apparent change...

There is an urgent need for new, potent antituberculosis (anti-TB) drugs with novel mechanisms of action that can be included in new regimens to shorten the treatment period TB. After screening a library carbostyrils, we optimized 3,4-dihydrocarbostyril derivatives and identified OPC-167832 as having activity. The MICs compound

ABSTRACT The increasing global burden of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) requires reliable drug susceptibility testing that accurately characterizes and resistance pathogenic bacteria to effectively treat patients with this deadly disease. Delamanid is an anti-TB agent first approved in the European Union 2014 for treatment pulmonary MDR-TB adults. Using agar proportion method, delamanid MIC was determined 460 isolates: 316 from enrolled a phase 2 clinical trial, 76 two early...

ABSTRACT Tuberculosis (TB) treatment is long and requires multiple drugs, likely due to various phenotypes of TB bacilli with variable drug susceptibilities. Drugs broad activity are urgently needed. This study aimed evaluate delamanid's against growing or dormant in vitro as well vivo . Cultures Mycobacterium bovis BCG Tokyo under aerobic anaerobic conditions were used the delamanid bacilli, respectively. Delamanid exhibited significant bactericidal replicating at above concentrations 0.016...

Delamanid (DLM), a nitro-dihydroimidazooxazole derivative currently approved for pulmonary multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (TB) therapy, is prodrug activated by mycobacterial 7,8-didemethyl-8-hydroxy 5-deazaflavin electron transfer coenzyme (F 420 )-dependent nitroreductase (Ddn). Despite inhibiting the biosynthesis of subclass mycolic acids, active DLM metabolite remained unknown. Comparative liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis metabolites revealed covalent binding...
