Porcine epidemic diarrhea coronavirus (PEDV) has significantly damaged America's pork industry. Here we investigate the receptor usage and cell entry of PEDV. PEDV recognizes protein aminopeptidase N from pig human sugar coreceptor N-acetylneuraminic acid. Moreover, infects cells pig, human, monkey, bat. These results support idea bats as an evolutionary origin for PEDV, implicate a potential threat to other species, suggest antiviral strategies control its spread.
Abstract Although accumulating evidence has linked mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) with tumor growth, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. Here, we demonstrated for first time that human umbilical cord MSCs (hUCMSCs) dramatically increased growth of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) cancer in a xenograft model. Then, observed hUCMSC-derived extracellular vesicles (hUCMSC-EVs) contribute to hUCMSC-promoted LUAD cell through direct effect on cells. Furthermore, showed hUCMSC-EV-mediated is...
The efficient separation of the orbital angular momentum (OAM) is essential to both classical and quantum applications with twisted photons. Here we devise demonstrate experimentally an method mimicking Faraday rotation sort OAM based on OAM-to-polarization coupling effect induced by a modified Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Our device capable sorting positive negative numbers, as well their mixtures. Furthermore, report first experimental demonstration optical vortices noninteger charges....
Neuroinflammation induced by chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH) plays a crucial role in the pathophysiologic mechanisms of vascular dementia (VD). A growing body research has found that intestinal microbiota is associated with variety central nervous system disorders and there relationship between dysbiosis cognitive dysfunction inflammatory responses. Baicalein belongs to class flavonoids biological functions, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant anti-apoptotic. significant...
ObjectivesThe potential protective effects and mechanisms of edaravone have not been well elucidated in vascular dementia (VaD) induced by chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH). The aim this study was to investigate whether could improve cognitive damage rats CCH, the were associated with ERK/Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway.MethodsCCH bilateral common carotid arteries occlusion (BCCAO). Sprague-Dawley (SD) randomly divided into four groups: sham (sham-operated) group, vehicle (BCCAO + normal...
To investigate the relations of Triglyceride glucose (TyG) index with cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) burden and cognitive function in aged patients type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).A total 308 elderly T2DM were included this retrospective study. The standardized Chinese version Mini-Mental State Examination was used to assess function. CSVD score assessed by combining four imaging markers CSVD, including presence white matter hyperintensity, microbleeds deep, lacunes enlarged...
This study sought to explore the associations of systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) with total cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) burden and cognitive impairment. We enrolled 201 patients in retrospective complete clinical laboratory data. The SII was calculated as platelet count × neutrophil count/lymphocyte count. Cognitive function evaluated by Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). Total CSVD assessed based on magnetic resonance imaging. We performed logistic regression models,...
Abstract Human cervical cancer is the fourth most common carcinoma in women worldwide. However, emergence of drug resistance calls for continuously developing new anticancer drugs and combination chemotherapy regimens. The present study aimed to investigate anti-cervical effects metformin, a first-line therapeutic type 2 diabetes mellitus, nelfinavir, an HIV protease inhibitor, when used alone or combination. We found that both metformin alone, were moderately effective inhibiting...
Natural biomolecules have been used extensively as chiral scaffolds that bind/surround metal complexes to achieve stereoselectivity in catalytic reactions. ATP is ubiquitously found nature an energy-storing molecule and can complex diverse cations. However, biotic reactions ATP-metal are thought function mostly co-substrates undergoing phosphoanhydride bond cleavage rather than participating mechanisms. Here, we report a specific Cu(II)-ATP (Cu2+·ATP) efficiently catalyses Diels-Alder with...
Abstract Chinese wild rice ( Zizania latifolia ) is rich in phenolic compounds, particularly flavonoids. This study identified 203 basic helix‐loop‐helix (bHLHs) Z. and showed that ZlbHLH196 Zla16G011250 corresponds to the ZlRc gene , with its protein product localizing nucleus. Notably, pericarps of ‐overexpressing (OE) are brown, whereas those wild‐type (WT) nonpigmented. The total phenolic, flavonoid, proanthocyanidin contents, antioxidant activity, as well enzyme inhibitory effects ‐OE...
Objective: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a risk factor for cognitive impairment and cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). The relation of metformin use or CSVD not clear. objective this study was to investigate the cross-sectional effects long-term on total burden function in patients with T2D. Methods: A 234 participants T2D from memory clinic Hebei General Hospital were enrolled retrospective study. Duration dosage recorded. Along magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination, Mini-Mental State...
Traditionally, the antiviral efficacy of classic cocktail therapy is significantly limited by distinct pharmacokinetic profiles partner therapeutics that lead to inconsistent in-vivo biodistribution. Here we developed a new cocktail-like drug delivery vehicle using biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles (NP) encapsulating nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) DAAN-14f (14f), surface-conjugated with HIV-1 fusion T1144, designated T1144-NP-DAAN-14f (T1144-NP-14f), and aiming...
