BACKGROUND: The optimal duration of anticoagulation therapy for isolated distal deep vein thrombosis in patients with cancer is clinically relevant, but the evidence lacking. prolonged could have a potential benefit prevention thrombotic events; however, it also increase risk bleeding. METHODS: In multicenter, open-label, adjudicator-blinded, randomized clinical trial at 60 institutions Japan, we randomly assigned thrombosis, 1-to-1 ratio, to receive either 12-month or 3-month edoxaban...
BackgroundData on thrombosis and current real-world management strategies for anticoagulation therapy are scarce but important understanding issues unmet needs of an optimal patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).MethodThe CLOT-COVID Study (thrombosis antiCoaguLatiOn Therapy in COVID-19 Japan Study: UMIN000045800) was a retrospective, multicenter cohort study enrolling consecutive hospitalized among 16 centers from April 2021 to September 2021, we tried capture the status fourth...
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become a huge threat worldwide as pandemic, which could also cause venous thromboembolism (VTE), including pulmonary embolism (PE). On the basis of concept high risk for VTE in patients with COVID-19, some studies reported potential benefit anticoagulation primary prevention VTE. However, optimal strategies COVID-19 still remain unknown. Additionally, ethnic differences may have notable implications presentation Very recently, Japanese Society...
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) reportedly causes venous thromboembolism (VTE), but the status of this complication in Japan was unclear.
Background:There is insufficient real-world data on the current status of Japanese patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE) or its treatment and prevention rivaroxaban.
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) causes extensive coagulopathy and a potential benefit of anticoagulation therapy has been documented for prevention thromboembolic events. Bleeding events also reported as notable complication; whereas, the incidence, risks, clinical impact bleeding remain unclear. The CLOT-COVID Study was nationwide, retrospective, multicenter cohort study on consecutive hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Japan between April 2021 September 2021. In this...
Abstract: A collagen‐impregnated graft, called Hemashield, has been used clinically; however, some complications such as pyrexia, fluid accumulation, and unusual scar formation around the graft have reported. To understand cause of these problems, was examined both in vivo vitro. Endotoxin (1–3)β‐ d ‐glucan were detected extract from Hemashield by special quantative methods Toxicolor Endospecy. In an animal study, grafts implanted thoracic descending aorta 9 dogs designed to explant at 2...
Introduction Rivaroxaban, a factor Xa inhibitor used as direct oral anticoagulant, is beneficial over warfarin in terms of food–drug interactions and the need for therapeutic monitoring patients with acute venous thromboembolism (VTE), including deep vein thrombosis pulmonary embolism. Because there little data regarding VTE treatment Japan, real-world survey Japanese being treated rivaroxaban needed. Methods analysis The Registry Rivaroxaban Effectiveness & Safety Prevention Recurrence...
Objective: Cyanoacrylate closure (CAC) is a minimally invasive technique for the treatment of varicose veins. A recent paper reported serious adverse events (AEs) associated with this use. This triggered an urgent survey to determine incidence AEs in Japan. Methods: The CAC-AE was sent all 1,030 institutions authorized CAC treatments. Cases performed between January 2020 and October 2023 were surveyed. Data on mortality collected. Results: There 623 surveys returned. 16 cases proximal deep...
Objective: To investigate the usefulness of D-dimer as a screening method well to explore potent predictors deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in hospitalized Japanese patients with acute medical diseases/episodes.
Purpose: This study aimed at clarifying the changes in treatments for primary varicose veins Japan. Methods: A questionnaire was mailed to members of Japanese Society Phlebology. The contents survey covered treatment and strategy vein cases 2013. results were examined compared with previous surveys conducted by aforesaid society 1998, 2004 2009. Results: Of 36078 patients, 43958 limbs reported from 201 institutions. Saphenous type most common that developed patients aged 70-79 years. C4-6...
The relationship between aortic dissection and coronary artery disease is not clear. purpose of this study was to clarify the difference in rate atherosclerosis Stanford type A B by reviewing our institutional database. One hundred forty-five patients (78 males, 67 females; mean age: 60 ± 12 years) admitted hospital with acute who underwent angiography during hospitalization from 2000 through 2002 were enrolled study. background characteristics, risk factors, findings (number significant...
Background: The natural history of asymptomatic isolated distal deep vein thrombosis (DVT) the leg is unclear. This study aimed to describe a 3-month and 1-year clinical course after diagnosis DVT leg.
Vascular prostheses coated with collagen carefully prepared to avoid contamination were tested see if it could induce endothelial cell lining throughout the graft surface in a natural way. The fibers succinylated. Hydrogel produced succinylated was used for sealant reduce amount of solid substance. To and side effects chemical reagents, thermally crosslinked under sterile conditions. A suspension enmeshed interstices Dacron fabric prostheses, which then at 130°C 20 h. porous when fiber...
