A series of copper(I)–phosphine polypyridyl complexes have been investigated as potential antitumor agents. The [Cu(PPh3)2dpq]NO3 (2), [Cu(PPh3)2dppz]NO3 (3), [Cu(PPh3)2dppa]NO3 (4), and [Cu(PPh3)2dppme]NO3 (5) were synthesized by the reaction [Cu(PPh3)2NO3] with respective planar ligand under mild conditions. These copper fully characterized elemental analysis, molar conductivity, FAB-MS, NMR, UV–vis, IR spectroscopies. Interactions between these DNA using various spectroscopic techniques...
Chiral molecules in nature are involved many biological events; their selectivity and specificity make them of great interest for understanding the behavior bioactive molecules, by providing information about chiral discrimination. Inspired these conformational properties, we present design synthesis novel platinum(II) complexes featuring phosphine chloroquine ligands with general formula [PtCl(P)2(CQ)]PF6 (where (P)2 = triphenylphosphine (PPh3) (5), 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphine)propane (dppp)...
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly aggressive subtype. The high rate of metastasis associated to the fact that these cells frequently display multidrug resistance, make treatment metastatic disease difficult. Development antitumor metal-based drugs was started with discovery cisplatin, however, severe side effects represent limitation for its clinical use. Ruthenium (Ru) complexes different ligands have been successfully studied as prospective drugs. In this work, we...
Eight Ru(ii) complexes were synthesized. The activities against MDA-MB-231 cells include anti-migration, arrest at the sub-G1 phase and cell death by apoptosis.
The triple-negative breast cancer subtype (TNBC) is highly aggressive and metastatic corresponds to 15–20% of diagnosed cases. TNBC treatment hampered, because these cells usually do not respond hormonal therapy, they develop resistance chemotherapeutic drugs. On the other hand, severe side effects cisplatin represent an obstacle for its clinical use. Ruthenium (Ru)-based complexes have emerged as promising antitumor antimetastatic substitutes cisplatin. In this study, we demonstrated a...
Metal–antifungal drug complexes were investigated against fungus causing of sporotrichosis. They more active fungal cells than to mammalian cells.
In this paper, a series of new ruthenium complexes the general formula [Ru(NS)(dpphpy)(dppb)]PF6 (Ru1–Ru3), where dpphpy = diphenyl-2-pyridylphosphine, NS ligands 2-thiazoline-2-thiol (tzdt, Ru1), 2-mercaptopyrimidine (pySm, Ru2), and 4,6-diamino-2-mercaptopyrimidine (damp, Ru3), dppb 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)butane, were synthesized characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV/visible, 1D 2D NMR), X-ray diffraction. characterization, correlation between phosphorus...
Malaria is a dangerous tropical disease, with high morbidity in developing countries. The responsible parasite has developed resistance to the existing drugs; therefore, new drug delivery systems are being studied increase efficacy by targeting hemozoin, paramagnetic metabolite. Herein, magnetic mesoporous silica (magMCM) was synthesized using iron oxide particles dispersed structure for magnetically driven behavior. X-ray diffractogram (XRD) and Mössbauer spectra show patterns corresponding...
We report the pharmacological activity of organoruthenium complexes containing chloroquine (CQ) as a chelating ligand. The displayed intraerythrocytic against CQ-sensitive 3D7 and CQ-resistant W2 strains Plasmodium falciparum, with potency selectivity indexes similar to those CQ. Complexes all stages, but moderate berghei liver stages. However, unlike CQ, impaired gametocyte viability exhibited fast parasiticidal trophozoites for P. falciparum. This functional property results from ability...
The efficacy of organoruthenium complexes containing ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitors (CTZ: clotrimazole, KTZ: ketoconazole and FCZ: fluconazole) against tumor cells, their interaction with important macro-biomolecules such as human serum albumin DNA have been investigated here. Our experimental results indicated that these ruthenium(II) present spontaneous electrostatic interactions albumin, act minor groove binders the DNA. ability Ru(II)–azole to inhibit proliferation selected non-tumor...
This work demonstrates the ability of nanosecond 193 nm laser radiation to selectively ablate biological material on a glass substrate.
The esterification of the free carboxyl group in ruthenium complexes improves complex interactions with biomolecules, lipophilicity, and cellular uptake, making them more selective against tumor cells than cisplatin.
New organoruthenium complexes were synthetized, characterized and evaluated to inhibit the proliferation of theLeishmania amazonensisparasite.
