While the deregulation of iron homeostasis in breast epithelial cells is acknowledged, iron-related alterations stromal inflammatory from tumor microenvironment have not been explored. Immunohistochemistry for hepcidin, ferroportin 1 (FPN1), transferrin receptor (TFR1) and ferritin (FT) was performed primary tissues axillary lymph nodes order to dissect iron-profiles cells, lymphocytes macrophages. Furthermore, carcinoma core biopsies frozen optimum cutting temperature (OCT) compound were...

Despite the progressive research and recent advances in drug therapy to treat solid tumours, number of cases deaths patients with cancer is still a major health problem. Drug repurposing coupled combination strategies has been gaining interest among scientific community. Recently, our group proposed novel combinations for breast colon using repurposed drugs from different classes (antimalarial central nervous system (CNS)) chemotherapeutic agents such as 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), paclitaxel...

Peripheral nerve injuries remain a significant clinical challenge, particularly in severe neurotmesis requiring complex therapeutic interventions to restore functionality. This study evaluated the pro-regenerative potential of combining neural guide conduits with secretome from olfactory mucosa mesenchymal stem cells, compared gold-standard surgical techniques, validated ovine model common peroneal injury. Recovery was assessed over 24 weeks using functional, kinematic, ultrasonographic, and...

Abstract Background Cutaneous mast cell tumours are one of the most common neoplasms in dogs and show a highly variable biologic behaviour. Several prognosis tools have been proposed for canine tumours, including histological grading proliferation markers. CD117 is receptor tyrosine kinase thought to play key role human neoplasms. Normal (membrane-associated) aberrant (cytoplasmic, focal or diffuse) immunoexpression patterns identified tumours. Cytoplasmic expression has found correlate with...

The persistent organic pollutant p,p'-DDE, the major metabolite of insecticide DDT, has displayed evidence endocrine disruption through inhibition androgen binding to receptors in different species. Although p,p'-DDE was continuously detected wild fish with abnormal gonad development such as intersex, little is known about its mode action during fish. To elucidate potential effects this zebrafish (Danio rerio), juveniles (30 days post hatch) were exposed critical window sexual...

Summary In an immunohistochemical study of 25 canine chemodectomas, 17 tumours were stained with antisera to neurone specific enolase and the same number for synaptophysin; a single tumour was S100. Staining Ki‐67 occurred in 18 cases; Ki‐67‐labelling index intensity immunostaining increased more pleomorphic malignant tumours, as assessed on histological grounds. Immunohistochemistry did not aid recognition less well‐differentiated tumours.
