The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with the increase in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike (S1) protein and neutralizing antibody titer following SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. This observational conducted among healthcare workers working for a private hospital group Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. Two blood samples were obtained from each participant. first sample before dose BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech) vaccine, second approximately 6 weeks...

Abstract A key issue in the post-COVID-19 era is ongoing administration of COVID-19 vaccines. Repeated vaccination essential for preparing against currently circulating and newly emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants while enabling people to continue with daily life. Optimizing strategies crucial efficiently manage medical resources establish an effective framework. Therefore, it important quantitatively understand vaccine-induced immunity dynamics be able identify poor responders lower sustained...

Abstract To reveal waning humoral immunity after second dose BNT162b2 vaccinations in a rural Japanese community and determine factors affecting antibody titers. We aimed to report Immunoglobulin G (IgG) against the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S1) protein levels neutralizing activity large scale based cohort. Methods: Participants observational cross-sectional study received of vaccination with (Pfizer/BioNTech) were not previously infected COVID-19. Questionnaire-collected data on sex, age, adverse...

Booster vaccination reduces the incidence of severe cases and mortality related to COVID-19, with cellular immunity playing an important role. However, little is known about proportion population that has achieved after booster vaccination. Thus, we conducted a Fukushima cohort database assessed humoral in 2526 residents healthcare workers Prefecture Japan through continuous blood collection every 3 months from September 2021. We identified people induced using T-SPOT.COVID test, analyzed...

Background: Different characteristics of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) between Western and Japanese populations have been reported. Risk factors for COPD exacerbation reported in countries but not studied Japan. Patients Methods: We retrospectively examined risk exacerbation. A total 156 were enrolled, the records 136 analyzed. Results: In group (n=60), body mass index, forced vital capacity (FVC), expiratory volume one second (FEV 1 ), FEV /FVC ratio /FVC),...

As we learned during the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines are one of most important tools in infectious disease control. To date, an unprecedentedly large volume high-quality data on vaccinations have been accumulated. For preparedness future pandemics beyond COVID-19, these valuable datasets should be analyzed to best shape effective vaccination strategy. We collecting longitudinal from a community-based cohort Fukushima, Japan, that consists 2,407 individuals who underwent serum sampling two or...

This study investigated the immune response and outcome of BNT162b2 vaccination among 12 staff at a hospital in Fukushima, Japan. Blood samples were collected from participants before their first vaccination, with subsequent sampling performed during participants' work days for six weeks thereafter. Antibody titers peaked 6-13 after second (days 27-34 first), followed by steady decrease. Six males had significantly lower peak antibody than females (p = 0.016 t-test); older (median age 53...

Abstract Recent studies have provided insights into the effect of vaccine boosters on recall immunity. Given limited global supply COVID-19 vaccines, identifying vulnerable populations with lower sustained vaccine-elicited antibody titers is important for targeting individuals booster vaccinations. Antibody following two doses were repeatedly monitored and information lifestyle...
