Immunocompromised individuals are not optimally protected by COVID-19 vaccines and potentially require additional preventive interventions to mitigate the risk of severe COVID-19. We aimed characterise describe across immunocompromised groups as pandemic began transition an endemic phase.

Abstract Background Use of immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory therapies (IITs) may be a risk factor for severe COVID-19 outcomes. The INFORM (INvestigation oF cOvid-19 Risk among iMmunocompromised populations) study (ISRCTN53375662) uses routinely collected, national primary/secondary care data in England to provide comprehensive, population-based assessment impact, risk, and cost immunocompromised (IC) other high-risk populations. Here we assess hospitalization IC individuals receiving...

Abstract Background The INFORM study showed the disproportionate risk of COVID-19 hospitalization and mortality among immunocompromised (IC) versus non-immunocompromised (non-IC) individuals. This analysis aimed to describe relationship between by IC status. Methods retrospective cohort assessed electronic healthcare records from a random 25% sample population England, aged ≥ 12 years, who were registered active in National Health Service. Individuals categorized status highest level...

To identify risk factors for death from pandemic (H1N1) 2009, we obtained data 157 hospitalized patients with confirmed cases of this disease. Multivariate analysis showed that diabetes and class III obesity were associated death. These findings helped define priority vaccination groups in Brazil.

Background Immunocompromised individuals are known to respond inadequately SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, placing them at high risk of severe or fatal COVID-19. Thus, immunocompromised and their caregivers may still practice varying degrees social physical distancing avoid However, the association between COVID-19 quality life has not been comprehensively evaluated in any study. Objective We aim measure behaviors among those person-centric outcomes, including health-related (HRQoL) measures, health...

This exploratory qualitative study involved semi-structured interviews with adults and caregivers of at high risk severe COVID-19, addressing current COVID-19 avoidance protective behaviors how these impacted their lives. Results were interpreted in a separate think tank session. Insights developed into conceptual model the associated impacts on health-related quality life overall functioning. Data using hybrid inductive deductive thematic analysis. Twelve high-risk individuals two...

Abstract Background Individuals with immunocompromised conditions (IC) have a higher risk of COVID-19 morbidity and death despite vaccination. Though patients (pts) ESRD are considered weaker antibody response to vaccination, some guidelines do not currently recommend pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for these pts. This is due the fact that boosters believed increase seropositivity production in pts on dialysis. The INFORM study aimed describe health burden severe COVID-19, here initial...

Abstract Background UK vaccination programs have reduced COVID-19–related hospitalizations and deaths in the overall population, yet vaccinated individuals with immunocompromised conditions (IC) are still at high risk of severe COVID-19 outcomes. Contemporary evidence on outcomes IC is needed, particularly post-pandemic omicron period. Initial results from INFORM, an observational retrospective cohort study describing health burden without ≥ 3 doses a vaccine England, presented. Methods Data...

Abstract Background Despite COVID-19 vaccination, individuals who are immunocompromised due to underlying conditions, such as cancer and organ transplant, at a greater risk of severe outcomes compared with the general population that is vaccinated. However, there limited data quantifying this during omicron-predominant period, particularly for important sub-groups may have variable outcomes. We report initial findings from INFORM study describing clinical burden in patients conditions (IC)...
