A measurement of direct photon production in ${}^{208}\mathrm{Pb}{+}^{208}\mathrm{Pb}$ collisions at $158A$ GeV has been carried out the CERN WA98 experiment. The invariant yield photons central is extracted as a function transverse momentum interval $0.5<{p}_{T}<4\mathrm{GeV}/c$. significant signal, compared to statistical and systematical errors, seen ${p}_{T}>1.5\mathrm{GeV}/c$. result constitutes first observation ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. It could be for diagnosis...

It is well known that the entanglement entropies for spacelike subregions, and associated modular Hamiltonians play a crucial role in bulk reconstruction program within anti–de Sitter (AdS) holography. Explicit examples of Hamilton-Kabat-Lifschytz-Lowe (HKLL) map exist mostly cases where emergent region so-called wedge given boundary subregion. However, motivated from complex pseudoentropy Euclidean conformal field theories (CFT), one can talk about “timelike entanglement” Lorentzian CFTs...

The Bangladeshi Cricket Frog (Minervarya asmati), previously recorded in Bangladesh, Manipur, and Mizoram, is newly reported from Shillong Cherrapunjee, Meghalaya, India. During a herpetological survey March 2024, three male specimens were collected paddy fields ephemeral pools. Morphological traits matched existing descriptions, phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA sequences confirmed species identity with 100% bootstrap support. This finding extends the known range northward by 260 km. With...

The production of neutral pions in 158AGeV Pb+Pb collisions has been studied the WA98 experiment at CERN SPS. Transverse momentum spectra are for range 0.3 GeV/c < mT-m0 4.0 GeV/c. results central compared to various models. centrality dependence pion spectral shape and yield is investigated. An invariance a simple scaling with number participating nucleons observed centralities greater than about 30 which most naturally explained by assuming an equilibrated system.

Localized fluctuations in the multiplicity of charged particles and photons produced central 158AGeV/c Pb+Pb collisions are studied. The versus neutral correlations common η−φ phase space regions varying azimuthal size analyzed by two different methods. analysis provides a model-independent demonstration nonstatistical both particle photon multiplicities limited regions. However, no correlated charge-neutral observed, contrary to expectations for production disoriented chiral condensate....

Three-particle correlations have been measured for identified pi(-) from central 158A GeV Pb+Pb collisions by the WA98 experiment at CERN. A substantial contribution of genuine three-body correlation has found as expected a mainly chaotic and symmetric source.

This work presents the first calibration experiment of a 3 MV Tandetron accelerator, FRENA, performed in May 2022. The $^7$Li(p,n) reaction threshold was measured to calibrate terminal voltage measuring device. A LiF target thickness 175 $\mu$g/cm$^2$ used experiment. 1872$\pm$2.7 keV, indicating 6$-$10 keV energy shift.

Neutral pion production in central 158AGeV Pb+Pb collisions has been studied the WA98 experiment at CERN SPS. The pi0 transverse mass spectrum analyzed terms of a thermal model with hydrodynamic expansion. high accuracy and large kinematic coverage measurement allow to limit previously noted ambiguities extracted freeze-out parameters. results are shown be sensitive shape velocity distribution freeze-out.

Inclusive photons of low transverse momenta have been measured in 200 GeV/nucleon 32S+Au collisions at the CERN SPS. Data were taken WA93 experiment using a small acceptance BGO detector with longitudinal segmentation. The results are compared to WA80 measurements for same system and from hadron decay calculations. An excess soft over expectations neutral meson decays is observed.Received 12 September 1996DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevC.56.1160©1997 American Physical Society
