Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) play an important role in cancer expansion and progression tumor microenvironment (TME), via both direct indirect interactions. Natural killer (NK) cells a crucial anticancer immunity. We investigated the inhibitory effects of CAFs on NK cell activity. were isolated from endometrial tissue, while normal (NEFs) obtained endometrium with no pathological abnormality. allogenic healthy volunteers. or NEFs co-cultured at NK/fibroblast ratio 1:1 without...

A new ophthalmic electronic videoendoscope system has a 20-guage probe for intraocular observation, standard size vitreous microsurgical instruments, and both endoscopic operating microscopic images are displayed on split-screen monitor to provide surgeos simultaneous view of images. Using this endoscope at any time during surgery, surgeons can examine the structure such as ciliary sulcus, pars plana, or base obtain valuable but otherwise unobtainable information completing surgery.

Then VEGF levels measured by ELISA. Retinal ischaemia was evaluated measuring area capillary nonperfusion on fluorescein angiograms public domain Scion Image program....

Low-grade inflammation, which plays important roles in the development of fatal diseases, is commonly observed obese people. However, this has not been evaluated lean people, who have relatively increased mortality risk compared with people normal weight. Here, we elucidate association between systemic low-grade inflammation and low body weight, particular emphasis on aging. We examined relationship circulating C-reactive protein (CRP) BMI a cross-sectional study 2,675 apparently healthy...

Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) has a natural history of bidirectional transition between different states. Therefore, conventional statistical models assuming unidirectional disease progression may oversimplify CIN fate. We applied continuous-time multistate Markov model to predict this fate by addressing the probability transitions multiple states according genotypes high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). This retrospective cohort comprised 6022 observations in 737 patients (195...

We present a case of recurrent ovarian cancer at the age 75, gravida 1 para 0, with 18 years disease-free survival. Chemotherapy brought 10-month partial response status; to further improve overall survival, patient was evaluated using AGO score (DESKTOP III trial, 2020), which originally intended for cases immediately after diagnosis recurrence; has indicated significant outcome; went through hepatosplenic metastatic site resection; and complete resection achieved. It was shown that differences among each case depended on types, not HPV genotypes. Focusing type, there a positive correlation between against frequency allelic loss. Furthermore,...

Abstract Background Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a primary cause of cervical cancer. Although epidemiologic study revealed that carcinogenic risk differs according to HPV genotypes, the expression patterns HPV-derived transcripts and their dependence on genotypes have not yet been fully elucidated.
