We report on the growth of GdCa 4 O(BO 3 ) (GdCOB) and YCa (YCOB) crystals their characterization as new nonlinear optical materials. The with good quality were grown by Czochralski method. YCOB, characteristics which has not previously been reported to our knowledge, a larger temperature acceptance bandwidth than that GdCOB, third harmonic generation Nd:YAG laser in this crystal was demonstrated.

A nonlinear optical crystal YCa(4)O(BO(3))(3) (YCOB) is phase matchable for third-harmonic generation (THG) of a Nd:YAG laser by type I mixing between 1.064 and 0.532mum . By partial substitution Gd Y in YCOB, solid solution Gd(x)Y(1-x)Ca(4)O(BO(3))(3) gradually changes the phase-matching angles THG to (theta, ø)=(90( degrees ), 90 ( )) We present properties noncritically phase-matched Gd(x) Y(1-x)Ca(4)O(BO(3))(3) (x=0.28)

OBJECTIVES: Our aim is to compare the efficacy and safety of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) against those continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP) or intermittent positive-pressure ventilation (NIPPV) after extubation in preterm infants. METHODS: This prospective, randomized, noninferiority trial was conducted 6 tertiary NICUs. Infants born at <34 weeks who needed noninvasive were enrolled. We randomly assigned infants an HFNC group when used NCPAP/NIPPV NCPAP NIPPV used. The...

Biodegradable hydrogels with three different water contents were prepared through the glutaraldehyde crosslinking of gelatin an isoelectric point 5.0 under varied reaction conditions. The objective this study is to investigate effect time period basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) release that modified by hydrogel content, on bone regeneration. A fracture was at femur mice, while incorporating bFGF or solution applied site. exhibited significantly stronger regeneration than solution,...

Abstract Background Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) causes not only infantile recurrent wheezing but also the development of asthma. To investigate whether palivizumab, an anti‐RSV monoclonal antibody, prophylaxis given to preterm infants during first RSV season reduces incidence subsequent and/or asthma, at 10 years age. Methods We conducted observational prospective multicenter (52 registered hospitals in Japan) case‐control study with a gestational age between 33 and 35 weeks followed...

Lung sound analysis parameters have been reported to be useful biomarkers for evaluating airway condition. We developed an automatic lung software program infants and children based on spectral curves of frequency power by leveraging machine learning (ML) technology. To put this into clinical practice, in Study 1, the reliability reproducibility using data from younger were examined. In 2, relationship between respiratory flow (L/s) was evaluated older children. 3, we conducted a survey...

In recent years, with the advent of artificial intelligence, clear progress has been made in clinical application lung sound analysis techniques. Using a new software program to analyze pediatric sounds using machine learning (ML), we conducted survey study 139 healthy 3-year-old children.
