Rationale: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs)–mediated extracellular matrix destruction is the major cause of development and progression abdominal aortic aneurysms. Systemic treatments MMP inhibitors have shown effectiveness in animal models, but it did not translate to clinical success either because low doses used or systemic side effects inhibitors. We propose a targeted nanoparticle (NP)–based delivery inhibitor at aneurysms site. Such therapy will be an attractive option for preventing...

Abstract We introduce a novel Bombyx mori silk‐based composite material developed for bone tissue engineering. Three‐dimensional scaffolds were fabricated by embedding of natural degummed silk fibers in matrix regenerated fibroin, followed freeze‐drying. Different ratios to fibroin investigated with respect their influence on mechanical and biological properties. For all scaffold types, an interconnected porous structure suitable cell penetration was proven scanning electron microscopy....

In this research, we have investigated the photocatalytic degradation of carbon-coated TiO2 nanoparticles in polypropylene-based nano-composites. For purpose, nano-composites were prepared using and commercially available (Degussa, P25). Our results from SEM, FTIR, tensile tests showed that property causes chain scission reactions, crosslinking consequently polypropylene affects mechanical properties exposed We observed with greater carbon content nano-powders, there is less degradation.

Degeneration of elastic lamina and vascular calcification are common features pathology such as aortic aneurysms. We tested whether dual therapy with targeted nanoparticles (NPs) can remove mineral deposits (by delivery a chelating agent, ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA)) restore polyphenol, pentagalloyl glucose (PGG)) to reverse moderate aneurysm development.EDTA followed by PGG NP led reduction in macrophage recruitment, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) activity, elastin degradation...

Medial arterial calcification (MAC) is a common outcome in diabetes and chronic kidney disease (CKD). It occurs as linear mineral deposits along the degraded elastin lamellae responsible for increased aortic stiffness subsequent cardiovascular events. Current treatments calcification, particularly CKD, are predominantly focused on regulating disturbance other risk factors. Ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), chelating agent, can resorb deposits, but systemic delivery of EDTA may cause...

Electrospinning is a scaffold production method that utilizes electric force to draw polymer solution into nanometer-sized fibers. By optimizing the and electrospinning parameters, created with desired thickness, alignment, pore size. Traditionally, cells biological constitutes are implanted matrix of three-dimensional following electrospinning. Our design simultaneously introduces during process at 8 kV. Alternative bone regeneration strategies that do not rely on harvested tissue or exogenous growth factors are needed. One of the major challenges in reconstruction is recreating microenvironment using appropriate combination cells, scaffold, and stimulation to direct differentiation. This study presents a formulation involves use human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hASCs) three-dimensional (3D) hydrogel scaffold based self-assembled RADA16 peptides containing superparamagnetic iron...

Background: The restoration of collagen and elastin in human dermal fibroblasts plays a crucial role anti-aging skin rejuvenation therapies. Numerous studies have examined the effects various antioxidants on health, but there is limited research comparing their combined synthesis fibroblasts. Objective: objective this study was to evaluate individual N-acetylcysteine (NAC), Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), Niacinamide (NIAC), Gamma Cyclodextrin (GAMMA), Retinol (RET), Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG),...

Elastin is a fibrous protein key to the structure and support of skin as well other organ tissues. Elastic fibers are located in skin's dermal layer make up approximately 2%-4% fat-free dry weight dermis adults. Aging causes progressive degradation elastin fibers. Loss these can cause sagging wrinkling, loss healthy blood vessels lung capacity, aneurysms, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).We hypothesized that ellagic acid, polyphenol, will increase human fibroblasts (HDF) due...

Abstract Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) disease causes dilation of the aorta, leading to rupture and death if not treated early. It is 14th cause in U.S. 10th men over age 55, affecting thousands patients. Despite prevalence AAA, no safe efficient pharmacotherapies exist for The deterioration elastic lamina aneurysmal wall a consistent feature AAAs, making it an ideal target delivering drugs AAA site.
