The LHCb Vertex Locator (VELO) is a silicon strip detector designed to reconstruct charged particle trajectories and vertices produced at the interaction region. During first two years of data collection, 84 VELO sensors have been exposed range fluences up maximum value approximately 45 × 1012 1 MeV neutron equivalent (1 neq). At operational sensor temperature −7 °C, average rate current increase 18 μA per fb−1, in excellent agreement with predictions. effective bandgap has determined using...

In this paper we aim to analyse the adoption of Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) for Data Management (RDM). We show how CRISs hold a key role in facilitating management and reporting an institution's research activities outputs – not only do they offer extensive functionality researchers administrators effectively manage all aspects their information, but are also integrating more with specialized RDM tools, Institutional Repositories (IR), other external systems. This provides...

The LHCb experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) CERN is a dedicated designed to search for New Physics in decays of beauty and charm hadrons. These hadrons are identified via their flight distance Vertex Locator (VELO), making VELO extremely important physics performance LHCb. silicon strip detector, located around interaction region. It consists two retractable halves with 21 modules each, which open during injection closed when 'stable beams' declared, bringing sensors 8 mm from LHC...
