Programs for population screening of colorectal cancer (CRC) have been implemented in several countries with fecal immunochemical testing (FIT) as the preferred platform. However, major obstacle a feces-based method is limited compliance that reduces clinical sensitivity detection participants non-symptomatic CRC. Therefore, research approaches initiated to develop concepts based on biomarkers blood. Preliminary results show protein, genetic, epigenetic, and metabolomic components may be...

Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) is widely used in population-based screening for colorectal cancer (CRC). This had led to major challenges regarding colonoscopy capacity. Methods maintain high sensitivity without compromising the capacity are needed. study investigates an algorithm that combines FIT result, blood-based biomarkers associated with CRC, and individual demographics, triage subjects sent among a positive (FIT+) population thereby reduce burden. From Danish National Colorectal...

Blood-based biomarkers could be an alternative method to increase compliance in population-based programs for early detection of CRC. We aimed identify new blood-based that potential candidates use colorectal screening. Methods: In a nested cohort study 1967 FIT positive participants Danish CRC program serum levels GDF-15, hepsin,...

A striking coincidence between nasal symptoms of adenoid hypertrophy and chronic secretory otitis media (SOM) was found in 343 patients with their first otosurgical treatment for SOM the period 1976–78. Tubulation combined adenoidectomy obstructive symptoms. In connection recurrence SOM, middle ear effusion considered to strengthen indication adenoidectomy. both situations associated a significantly improved prognosis SOM.
