Percutaneous occlusion of atrial septal defect (ASD) has recently become a standard therapeutic strategy, but little is known about left (LA) function thereafter. The present study aimed to determine LA in 43 children with ASD and 13 controls based on strain measured by two-dimensional echocardiographic speckle tracking (2DE-ST). Among these children, 12 underwent surgery (ASD-S), 31 had device closure (ASD-D), were included as controls. was significantly decreased after ASD-D not altered...

Abstract: An apparatus for the non‐culture method (NCM) of microbial cell count was formerly developed and named a bioplorer. The bioplorer NCM is based on double staining cells with 4′, 6‐diamidino‐2‐phenylindole (DAPI) propidium iodide (PI) automatic analysis their fluorescent microscopic images. Viable can be stained DAPI, while dead DAPI PI. In this study, has been applied to dialysate. viable in dialysate could counted within 20 min. detection limit expressed by log 10 [cells/100 mL]...

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) with developmental lung disease is a life-threatening and accounts for 10%–12% of pediatric PH patients. Administration specific pulmonary vasodilators to patients has brought about improvement their long-term prognosis. Intravenous epoprostenol therapy gold standard severe idiopathic arterial (IPAH), but there are few reports demonstrating the efficacy disease, especially when treating high doses epoprostenol. Two cases alveolar capillary dysplasia misalignment...

This study investigated the potential application of pressurized CO2 for water disinfection. Under supporting high pressure, a volume microbubbles were produced in liquid environment. Specifically, inactivation effects against Escherichia coli, bacteriophage MS2 and T4 examined at equal pressures (0.3 - 0.9 MPa) temperatures. The optimum conditions found to be 0.7 MPa an exposure time 25 min. identical treatment conditions, greater than 5.0 log reduction E. coli was achieved, while over 3.0...

Abstract Chiral alcohols are useful as intermediates for the synthesis of drugs. In production chiral alcohols, microbial enzymes promising since high optical purity is required. Under these conditions, reaction by resting cells more convenient and inexpensive than an enzyme reaction. 1,2‐propanediol 2,3‐butanediol were obtained using expressing which demonstrated stereospecificity. Abstract Hereditary connective tissue diseases have different risks of aortic dissection depending on the causative gene. We report a family with no extravascular phenotype and clinical diagnosis familial thoracic aneurysm dissection, but genetic testing confirmed p.Tyr470Cys in TGFBR2 , which is typically responsible gene for Loeys–Dietz syndrome. Validation by warranted.

Abstract A pregnant woman was referred to our hospital due fetal cardiomegaly. We recognised a dilated umbilical vein, which raised suspicion of placental chorioangioma. male neonate delivered at 37 weeks gestation. The cardiomegaly gradually improved. Pathological examination identified five non-giant chorioangiomas. Multiple chorioangiomas may cause complications despite the difficulty prenatal diagnosis.
